Hey guys, here are the TOTAL points required to hit the various levels:

VIP 1 = 1 pt
VIP 2 = 50 pts
VIP 3 = 150 pts
VIP 4 = 350 pts
VIP 5 = 650 pts
VIP 6 = 1050 pts
VIP 7 = 1550 pts
VIP 8 = 2150 pts
VIP 9 = 2950 pts
VIP 10 = 3950 pts

Then for each level it should look like:
0 → 1 = 1 pts
1 → 2 = 50 pts
2 → 3 = 100 pts
3 → 4 = 200 pts
4 → 5 = 300 pts
5 → 6 = 400 pts
6 → 7 = 500 pts
7 → 8 = 600 pts
8 → 9 = 800 pts
9 ->10=1000 pts

Now obviously it doesn’t apply the same for every currency, but this equals out to $790US.
Interesting, my fault for thinking people were talking cumulative rather than additive. =P

VIP 1 = 1 pt - $1US
VIP 2 = 50 pts - $10US
VIP 3 = 150 pts - $30US (+$20)
VIP 4 = 350 pts - $70US (+$40)
VIP 5 = 650 pts - $130US (+$60)
VIP 6 = 1050 pts - $210US (+$80)
VIP 7 = 1550 pts - $310US (+$100)
VIP 8 = 2150 pts - $430US (+$120)
VIP 9 = 2950 pts - $590US (+$160)
VIP 10 = 3950 pts - $790US (+$200)

I’ll be keeping this for future reference.

@Sirrian, I assume if you purchase a large block of gems at al lower level it will reward those gems to current VIP level and then update your VIP level? As in, if you were 0 and bought $50s worth you would receive only the base amount and then the next purchase you make will be counted with the new VIP level?

Ramble aside, the question becomes which comes first the VIP level or the gems?

I believe both. It will never cost you more than 3950 points worth of gems to earn Rank 10.
Every point over a VIP level should transfer over to the next counter.

The game shows me that I am at VIP 5 and 100 pts. But I’ve paid 180 USD on this game.

If you count console and app I’ve spent that much in my first month of play. I’m only vip 6 close to 7 on the app.
