So there are:
- the little purple things close in the Portal (there are 13)
- two skull coins (165 both)
So 3 new currencies?
Can Factions be just a new name for âKingdomâ in the Underground?

My guess is these will replace kingdoms from now on so tributes will never get much better than they currently are.

Could be, but maybe itâs just because there is no âGuardians Kingdomâ so the devs named it as faction, the same could apply to the Season Imps. We could have a few kingdoms existing underground and higher number of factions.

Youâre not restricted to anything in Guild Wars, you just get bonus points for fielding the daily colour.
Anyway colour restrictions allows for infinitely more synergetic, fun and engaging teambuilding than single kingdom or type restrictions.
Hoard looks like a replacement for treasure maps. Factions seems like guilds so maybe factions replaces guilds. Hall of Guardians only has 7 quests in itâs quest line that sucks. Maybe portals is where you go through and get either a troop or a treasure

Itâs a regret of mine that weâve ended up this way. 400+ troops in the game, every kingdom has 10+, but the failure to create synergies or much utility in kingdom⌠yes thereâs cool stuff here and there, but so little to build together with⌠does feel like a missed opportunity⌠like each troop is created by a different team to the month or year before, rather than having a concerted plan from the startâŚ

Well⌠I would think that it would be a fair assertion to say a form of currency might be used to obtain âtroops and treasuresâ from that picture. Wish I could say whether that it is an accurate claim or a dev slight-of-hand to make players think a certain way about that screenshot. 
When I think of factions in other games, like MMOs, the concept of a âfactionâ brings multiple ideas and expectations to mind. What might those be and how might they applied to GoW?
