I’m literally seeing no difference. I go through matches so fast I rarely hit the cap.
One way to help cope is to stop feeling you are entitled to win every battle, in under a minute, and with maxed out resources.
This game takes time, a lot of it, to progress. If you don’t have the time, then too bad.
Not trying to be rude at all @htismaqe but I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove or point you’re trying to make with your statement? Can you elaborate?
@TaliaParks I know part of your “personality” on the GoW forums is to be difficult but you know I didn’t say anything even remotely like what you just wrote. I’m trying to have an intelligent discussion to help improve the game; trying to insult me with such juvenile behavior isn’t really going to do anything other than prove you don’t have anything of substance to add to the debate.
I’m saying that I wonder how people are looking at it. I think play style has a lot to do with how this is perceived and since many people play different ways, that makes the opinions highly subjective.
If you’re playing 4 or 5 minute matches and trying to hit the cap every time, then yeah this might be a big nerf. But for me, it’s not a nerf. I’m getting just as many souls from Valkyrie as before because my matches don’t last long enough for it to make a difference.
Ah, thxs for the clarification. I would agree that is probably the case for some people but I don’t think that difference accounts for all players. My play style was fast w/ max souls so I know I’m not encompassed by that and I suspect I am not alone.
You mentioned “time to clear” as an important factor. It’s an overused excuse used by many to actually fight change to the game and it’s superfluous at best. Most players feel entitled to everything, their OP setups, their win rate, under-a-minute battles, etc. Anything that threatens that is immediately and excessively complained about until the Devs tire of the whining and do something to shut you all up.
It takes time and effort to progress. I’ve taken an extremely efficient path, reached end-game around level 500 and still don’t have everything in this game after 10 months. This is a long-term game that rewards patience and strategy.
I’m fully confident players will find a way to adapt and thrive.
@TaliaParks I think you have that backwards; I don’t have any horse in that race. I’m fine with battles taking longer or being shorter just as long as they’re fun and rewarding. I was merely responding to what you said:
I was making a point that the information you mentioned is meaningless without more context. You were trying to use something arbitrary and completely without context to prove a point. I was merely pointing out that you weren’t actually making a point.
Also, you seem to be implying that I’m someone new to the game.[quote=“TaliaParks, post:150, topic:14368”]

I’m happy that you’ve been enjoying the game for 10 months but don’t mistake my absence on the new forums for a lack of experience
Here are some facts: People are getting a lot more souls because the bonus was still set to 50% on necromancy. Another fact: In the same amount of time I used to get 106 souls, i’m now getting around 55-56. It now in some cases takes longer to hit the cap meaning I have to drag my matches on to hit it. While other people running EK or other troops are blazing through pvp. I’m hearing this from a lot of players too, like you all are hearing some of the opposite reactions. The troops they put necro on stink and are awful from a pvp stand point. Hardly any of these troops were ever viable for pvp. So now for the Valkyrie lovers we are, we deserve to be punished from a lot of different stand points. I’ll continue to use my Valk team and keep getting 55 souls per match. To go along with my original point, it’s a nerf to soul gain as well. The exact thing I complained about in the other Valkyrie thread before this update. I’m not using garbo troops, sorry.
In before some person posts some dumb stuff about, “You can get all the souls you want and need if you just play ball.”
That’s just it, no one makes me play ball if I don’t want to. You can’t force me into a corner.
You can take any of the new troops into explore and get lots of souls, but I primarily play pvp. Should I not have viable pvp soul gains as well? Don’t reply to this showing me examples of you winning matches randomly. These troops were never the meta nor close to it. They don’t have to be no, I don’t go with the meta either, but they need to be viable.
Dragon soul is the closest thing and even with a buff he still doesn’t compare really. wowza.
I have no idea how that can be other than through challenges tab in kingdoms menu.
100 base cap after necromancy + difficulty +armour + vip.
I dont believe the issue with nerfing Valkyrie is about earning less souls. It is more about how you are even more restricted in troop choice than ever if you want to gain the (increased) max number of souls per fight… which almost everybody would like.
Restriction of choice is lame and the reason Valkyrie needed to be changed in the first place.
Just an FYI for anyone voting. I though the cap could be raised by a maximum of 2 necromancy troops leaving one free space.
Instead you can raise it with 3 necromancy troops, raising the maximum souls per match further but completely limiting choice of troops.
I voted neutral. As others have said, it depends on play style. I prefer to play fast matches, so very rarely hit the soul cap anyway. I’m so bored of building Valkyrie teams that changes to her make no difference to me.
When exploring, traitstones are more important to me than souls, so I don’t use a high difficulty. On normal it’s no bother to to stick Keeper or another necromancy troop in as a 4th troop I never use while I beat the enemy with a few casts of TDS.
I haven’t got all my kingdoms to 5* and just use souls every couple of days to progress towards that. Souls just aren’t my priority.
Appreciate that some people are upset, but I’m not. I do feel for new players though; one of the reason Valk was so good for soul farming is that she’s easy to obtain. It could take hundreds of levels before someone gets TDS.
What do you think about restricting people to banshee etc.? Nobody wants to be stuck with either of them. An alternative is still required, i.e. being able to earn souls regardless of what troops you use.
I’m not using any Necro troops at all. I feel less restricted in building my teams than ever before.
I never was earning max souls per match, so it just doesn’t bother me. I’ve been trying to max my gains over time, rather than per match, for a long time.
Again, that’s my personal opinion on it, though.
I would agree that ignoring the necromancy troops is the best thing to do. Seems like a waste though.
It’s certainly not optimal, at least not if you need A LOT of souls. For me, I need a lot of Gold and that means lots of PVP, and fast.
Yeah , I need a lot of souls, but dont fancy using those troops so will live without
