First of all you admit the mechanic was broken. Valk was too good. No argument there.
You follow that up by saying that they introduced a new broken mechanic. This is where we differ. I don’t see that it is broken at all. They gave me more options to farm souls with, so I do not have to rely on Valk. Can I take those soul farmers into the headed death matches of PvP… NO! But they are farmers after all and PvP is not the place for them. 
That is what the real argument is about.
This thread no longer makes sense. This isn’t just a nerf to Valkyrie, it’s a nerf to how you play the game. Damn, I guess we had it coming. That’s what we get for using a troop so much.

The way we play the game has changed dramatically with every major release. This isn’t new. The only reason this one is so unpopular is because it happened to be a bunch of people’s favorite resource sponge, apparently.

Then what in God’s name are you so upset about? Every complaint in this thread is about not getting enough souls now. If that’s not the issue, what is?

Necromancy. You need 3 troops with necromancy plus a soul generator to gain max souls. All four positions locked down with garbage troop selection.

You dont need to get max souls, 100+ souls for a one minute explore is not bad either.
Ugh. The issue is that Valk was used too much. That’s what @Surrian said was the whole point of the changes, yes? With his graph and everything. Right?
Well then why didn’t they bring other cards up to Valks level and make cards that were as fun and useful to use as Valk? That would have solved everything and everyone would have been happy.
I don’t care that Valk makes less souls now; I care that the devs excuse for making the changes is one thing but everyone arguing in favor of the changes is claiming it’s because of something completely different. The devs identified a real issue, one the player base has been complaining about for a long time (the over use of Valk) and instead of giving us viable options so we don’t have to feel like we need to use Valk, they just took Valk away essentially. That is my point.
Imagine all the souls you could have gained, but instead you are spending your time in this thread, constantly whining.
