I took Mr. Strange’s recommendation on how to complete the task for beating a troop 8 times with hero’so weapon. I used a cheap weapon and troops that spread damag.
It worked great!
I don’t understand to play rowanne if you don’t upgrade her amor actually : Here is how I play her, it’s much fun
I called It Rowanne Gun
(+2 Blue Banner)
Celestasia
Valk
Alastair
Rowanne
Actually Rowanne can get pretty powerful you might use her as the main damage dealer in this deck.
I didn’t include her into my Thorn Forest Fairies deck
(Treant all traits, Dryad, Gloom leaf as an ennemy weakener, and Greenser.)
I use Gloom Leaf, Rowanne, Green Seer and Owlbear. I just have to hope the AI doesn’t hit her early, but generally the team works okay, and if Rowanne does get her armour removed I am slowed but still generally win.
my 2ndary team is emperina, valkyrie(fully traited)/terraxis(swap these around sometimes), wight (fully traited), miststalker(fully traited)
Emperina keeps itself alive while raising its atk and burning enemies for quicker kills when i have that trait, valkyrie builds wight/terraxis fills emperina, wight often instakills cards with a whopping 14 true damage ( + 14 life + 4 life for both him and stalker when killing), mist stalker cant be hit and does some nasty dmg gaining quite some life when he kills someone with it aswell.
Its the most vital team i have, made it specifically against vampire teams but also against teams with high armor and low health.
In most cases, Venoxia wreaks havoc in enemy team by herself with skulls from gem cascades. Rest of the team simply finishes what is left.
Only problem is if Venoxia is somehow killed fast - than it can be nervous sometimes…
Treant (fully traited for the skull blocking)
Queen Mab (fully traited for the freezing on 4/5 matching to slow the other team down)
Black Manacles (fully traited sorcerer for bonus purple, and magic gain randomly)
Valkyrie (blue power up and full traited).
I normally never activate my treant, and just use him as a blocker. This way once he is full, all blue go right to Queen Mab. If played right, you can active valkyrie, get a free turn, activate queen mab, get a free turn, match a few 4 matches of blue and get a free turn, and then activate queen mab again. This combo does crazy damage and if a few troops of the enemy are about to cast, it will normally destroy them before they can.
This is a team I have spend all my time in this game building toward. The hardest part was getting the items to outfit the sorcerer class.
My original team (before the queen mab release) was:
Treant (all traits)
Shadow-hunter (all traits)
Valkyrie (all traits)
Celestasia (all traits)
I liked it but it could be a bit slow, and since there is no AOE damage, it is possible shadow-hunter would keep killing them down to like 1 or 2 health, which was almost a waste as a pumped up treant would kill most things anyway.
Just my fun teams for now. I am pondering if I can make other groups work as well.
I’ll admit, the PC version has spoiled me. Even though I have way less troops and development, what I do have has been fun to use.
So on console we just got Wild Plains and Soothsayer is already on my short list of favorite troops (it, Watcher, and Valkyrie are the only ones I have fully traited on both). Tried to put together the team I was using on pc as best as possible and… bleh. The differences were obvious (a few which should change whenever the next console update comes out) and much boredom set in.
But no this isn’t a complaint. Far from it. Boredom helped spark some interest in finding troops I never considered before. Now while the net result only changed 1 troop (cause I need souls and I love Soothsayer’s versatility) the games became a lot more interesting.
Soothsayer (3)
Valkyrie (3)
Crimson Bat (1)
Psion (1)
(I may consider swapping Bat and Psion)
I’m sure it’s not that original, but never gave Psion a second thought before. That little bit of mana control has really helped win a few matches. And yeah true damage all around. Only downside is Soothsayer in the first spot but he’s the most expendable and usually just needs to take a skull hit or 2 for Valkyrie to do her thing. Grinding goes pretty quickly with them too. Hopefully Blue Red will be available again soon so I can get the double cursed.
Once I can get the right traits on Mountain Crusher, that might be a better lineup :). Right now one of my only 3 mystic troops is my Treant, which makes him a beast to kill, and once in a while I activate him a time to do so he can more or less kill anything on a skull match
