I’m not a big fan of the maw valk either. They just don’t have that special something to make a relationship. But you may be able to get away with Maw, shadow dragon, mercy valk? Again not a big fan, but that seems like a decent path to try and translate gems…however it is very expensive and cumbersome. I find behemoth, shadow cat, valk, situational blue dmg dealer to be a much better valk driven lineup.
If you do not mind sharing, what banner and fourth troop are you running with behemoth, cat, valk?
I always run blue/blue.
The forth dps’er can rotate but basically you want something that can do direct, targeted damage so you can do some big hits on the high threat target and let the behemoth play clean up. I have used:
Valor for daemon lineups
Sabertooth Lion to scratch the “use 3 troops from the same kingdom” itch
Elf-Eater for fey/rowanne decks
Cthyryzyx because I wanted to roll some dice
Hero with blue weapons
The lineup can also take some non-directed damage really well. The druid works well becaue he also has water link, so with full traits you have the b/b banner giving +2 powered by 3 water links. Also the knight coronet is powerful and a gem deny for purple. And you can use rowanne but without an armor generator you are at risk of having here lose here damage pretty quickly.
Best advice I can give you is to go to the kingdom list, set your mana filter to blue a in the search box type ‘deal’ and you will get the dps troops. Then pick what ever tickles your interest or that you have soul and/or traits invested.
4th troop is Mercy, blue yellow banner (considering yellow/purple cause of water link)
I use a similar setup:
Knight Coronet***
Behemoth
Valkyrie***
Druid*
Banner: Blue/Yellow or Blue/Red
Note: Double Water Link, Valk’s Ability and the Banner allows me to fill up most of my team and sometimes my entire team if I get a mana surge in multiple places.
Great team with a lot of damage, attack mitigation and mana recycling.
