What is your explore team?

Sun and moon (sorcerer fully traited preferred but not required, min1 trait)
Dokkalfar (10 split damage is horrible but that giant spider and ancient horror though. Trait to 0 to 3 his first 2 traits are not worth it in the long run that chance to stay in the game with horror 25% does make a difference sometimes.)
Giant spider (For this build the first two traits work well but incase of emergency break out that 3rd trait cause sometimes there is a slobber knocker and the game can come down to a giant spider vs the world)
Terraxis (gotta have all 6 colours covered. Siege is nice but for faster mana generation gotta get that stone link to work with dokkalfar.)

Two of the troops aoe and one troop does split damage. Two troops make mana for the team.
Other troops to consider traiting that this team uses spider swarm and ancient horror.
Spider swarm (0-3 traits. Venomous is good for those long games. However you do not need it with its spell being able to poison.)
Ancient horror (fist and last trait are not needed for this, however you want that 2nd trait to quickly fill horror or any remaining purple mana troop you have left, that being hero if possible. Damage is better than the spider per tick and it gains stats when it kills)

Herald of Chaos***
Valkyrie***
Rowanne
Rowanne

Simple yet extremely effective on normal

Valkyrie***
Valkyrie***
Rowanne***
Siren***
Dragon Banner
Normal difficulty

Siren cast, 1st Valkyrie cast, Rowanne cast, 2nd Valkyrie cast, Rowanne cast.
The game always ends in 5 turns or less (sometimes in 2), with plenty of souls.

yes… but 2 dokkalfars/dokkalfarae/dokkalfari?

Ok, so what’s the most annoying thing in GoW?
Obviously, it’s when AI steals your last red/blue whatever gems to fill your main troop, making you grind your teeth. Or that randomness, when board has no color you need the most. In such cases the match becomes long and frustrating.

Good thing we have teams such as Bombot team!
Equip Kraken banner +2 Brown +1 Blue, Mechanist(3 traits), and one single brown match will fill your Bombot!
Or, if you struggle with brown, one blue match will fill Deep Borer(2 traits) and off you go!
If you struggle with blue, try red, one Mana Surge will do it.

Bombot explosions will probably fill your Deep Borer and sometimes Mechanist, jumbling the board at the same time. You will definitely find more brown, red or blue to proceed.

As you can see, this setup has very low chances to stuck at some point, resulting in super fast explore and 1 trophy PvP matches.

So, what about soul farming? I needed something as effective and reliable as Bombot team, and after having tried out the team MakoSipper suggested

, decided to optimize it a bit.

My current setup is
Valk (3)
Anu’s Sceptre/ Mechanist (3)
Rowanne
Wight (1)

Dragon Banner +2 red +1 yellow

Two Water Link traits with Fast allow me to instantly fill Anu, then instantly fill Valk if 10 red or yellow gems are present.
If I struggle with blue, two red matches will do. Or 2 yellow, provided one of them is Mana Surge.

So, here we go again, this setup is depended on 3 colors, and chances are very low, that you will ever stuck!

My Rowanne currently has 31 armor thanks to kingdom and guild bonuses, it’s not enough to wipe the whole team on Normal, but that’s why we have Wight aboard! Cast his spell on an enemy with high armor and low health, Rowanne will finish the job.
He also gives you souls!

On the downside, there is no Necromancy trait on this team. But!
Each match is very fast, like 1-2 min.
I’m not sure, but it’s probably the same soul output compared to 200 souls 10 minute long matches.
And you get way more traitstones this way, allowing you to farm BOTH souls and arcanes

I generally favor exploder teams for fast explore, because I don’t need to spend too much time looking for links. I find explosion seldom leave a board that AI can make multiple time-wasting moves (unlike transformation, when yourself often need to waste time eliminating many potential 4/5 links). Here is one team I use often on Warlord II difficulty, sort of an explore/soul farm combo:

Abyssal banner

Ragnagord
The Dragon Soul
Pharos-Ra
Pharos-Ra(or Acolyte)

Priority color to take: Purple, Brown, Red. Don’t use Pharos until it is absolutely necessary (for instance, there is just no purple on board). Your TDS should do the most dirty work. Ragna only when can’t fill TDS directly.

Most of the time match ends within 2 minutes. This is probably more for mid level players who still need a lot of souls.
