USA Presidential Election

I’ve noticed the same thing. I became an independent because I noticed a long time ago that the party system is a joke. For the most part, both parties are the same corporate shills wearing different masks. Instead of politicians voting their conscious, they vote along party lines and self-interests fueled by lobbies.

Not even close. Talia, you may read up on American politics but you clearly have not researched Trump generally. He flips his stance on issues more often than he gets a spray tan. This is a man that wants to build a wall and change trade when simultaneously sending the production of his clothing line to Mexico for manufacturing. A man who preaches about illegal immigrants taking American jobs, yet he himself hired how many illegal workers? Trump is only out for Trump’s agenda and the fact is we have no idea what that agenda is since he might get a wild hair up his butt and change his views again.

Editing to add this:

Yes, politicians do lie, but apparently non-politician candidates lie a bit more…just sayin’

It is interesting and perhaps also sad that people from other countries seem to know our presidents name and other officials, yet few Americans can name any of the other world leaders or officials.

Wonder why that is?

quoting from http://www.invisiblecompany.com/category/fun/

Reminds me of a recent joke that was circulating around fb:

A teacher at an International School gave a class assignment: “Describe your own personal opinion of the food shortage in other countries around the world.”

African student: what is “food”?
European student: what is “shortage”?
Chinese student: what is “personal opinion”?
American student: what is “other countries”?

Yeah based on your extremely negative responses and I am right attitude, I would say he did the smartest thing possible. No discussion will change your mind. Also if you don’t hate america or americans, you sure fooled me.

As soon as you try to tell someone else what they can and can’t do you give up the right to make your own choices…

I find it interesting how so many people proclaim their uniqueness and individually and yet always seem to flock to a crowd.

I don’t the the existence of limits removes personal choice. In fact, it ENFORCES choice, by establishing consequences for some of those choices.

I’m also comfortable being both an individual and a member of a group. Several groups, in fact. A huge number of unique group combinations! I don’t see any conflict there. I’m a parent - and I am very comfortable being part of that group. I’m also a console game developer, etc. Doesn’t threaten my individually at all.

Oh no you didn’t! You have done it this time. First there is the relief…

Then you realize that you have jinxed the thread to all heck.

I am going back to my original position:

Your original poll:

 1. Trump
 2. Clinton
 3. Sanders
 4. None of the Above

Looks like this to me:

 1. Red Bull Gives You Wings
 2. Coke
 3. Pepsi
 4. None of the Above

SPOILER! I chose number 4 and plan to vote for a write-in candidate.

So who you writing in? Or is that top secret?:grinning:

How can someone be sick of bernie sanders? I can understand donald trump and i can understand hillary clinton.

it could be becsue of his proposed tax system.
lobbies.

We need to scrap our current lobby system and adopt the lobby system that Britain has. Yes i have respect for the british government. Does this make me a defector probable, but i do like their system.

I think it is still remaining civil considering the fact that it is a no-no topic. Also enjoyable to see it come out.
write-in candidate.
Which one and will that work?

Jessup: YOU WANT ANSWERS?!
Kaffee: I want the truth!

Um … okay … well, here is my brief and humble view …

But the specific candidate is not important other than the fact that I cannot vote for DT, HC, or BS.

In general, our citizens do not study the constitution—many have not even read it—to learn how to hold the government accountable. There are mechanisms in place and tools available to keep the federal government in check and our people have forgotten.

Our people feed on the worst kind of popular tripe given by media machinery that politicizes issues in every conceivable way. As if the unbiased, ethical research guidelines have been thrown out in favor of a new journalistic paradigm: facts must always be filtered through the lens of my political prejudices; in short, the truth must first be modified by the answer to the question “How can I sell my politics as I relay this story?”

People congregate to liberal or conservative news sources while cheering on their candidates who continually allow the federal government to bloat and get further into areas where it should not.

Governments increase in size and power and grow way past what they need to in time. There are less controls on them.

Restrain it! Keep checks and balances firmly in place! Tell those bureaucrats to sit the heck down!

/rant mode disabled

The federal government is growing out of control. Let free trade reign in our society, force the government to a smaller, more manageable size. The geniuses who authored our government understood this: why do we not?

Stop expecting these noble bureaucrats to organize society and make decisions for you. Learn about the constitution and reign government in or they will, as has happened so many times in history, begin to act against the will of the people.

;tldr Free trade, bro–do not let the government depart from free enterprise in any way, smaller government, control your government before it controls you and you find that these “paragons of virtue” organizing your society have turned against you with the power you handed them.

;tldr2 stop the feds from spending money they don’t have

I think that the system of voting is flawed because voting has become privatised. The government does not run the voting machines and we have to have faith that the company is unbiased with our votes as they are counted. We use machines and somehow there are still inaccuracies in the voting system where there can be 1000s of votes swinging one way or another.

Ha! Not really though–I do not subscribe to many aspects of her philosophy.

Just giving you some grief for fun. I don’t subscribe to most of her philosophy, either, but some of the things you said reminded me of it.

He apparently had a fairly high IQ which is fairly disturbing.

I’ve confronted these types of conversations ingame. Well with my name you might know what i mean.
