Ah, I see. Usually my Glitterclaw was cast-able together with either TDS or Worldbreaker after exploding the board, so compared to firing off one of the two exploders, Glitterclaw always seemed the less desireable option.
Also it’s kinda unfortunate that Glitterclaw is the last one to fill since Worldbreaker and Dragotaur both also use green. So all in all, I feel like Glitterclaw not only doesn’t do too good in my dragon team because of it doing random damage, but also because of the colors.
Yeah, I know I should use Gorgotha, but I just love my dragons.
I hear you on Gorgotha, I feel like my win rate’s roughly the same with Gorgotha as it was with Dragotaur. Getting a boost for the inevitable skull matches was almost as big a deal as having Gorgotha for better fills. All in all it’s a very mana-heavy team and we both lack the key “4 exploders” makeup that turns it into Brokentown!
Newbie here and kind of newbie to the game. I’ve reached the second last fight in Bright Forest - The defeat all Things. But I’m getting defeated all the time, have tried different kind of teams but to no avail . Can someone give me some advice on what team to use to win. I know it may be difficult since you don’t know which troops I have. I’m also out of souls so I can’t improve the troops I’ve got right now.
Is it possible to win this level as a newbie? Or do I have to wait?
Any help appreciated
It’s done me a LOT of good, really!
I have started to place Loyalty in the last slot, though. Her spell is so abysmally bad at creating loops that I don’t want her to sap up green gems twice before they reach Yasmine.
For me, Aurora is so vital in keeping loops active that I don’t wanna risk swapping her out. She has also done very well in other teams for me - I’ve become really dependent on her. Loyalty is definitely the weakest link in the team.
All matches I lost with this team so far have been either against devour or silence. They’re really great against everything else!
I have a love-hate relationship with Gorgotha as in all matches with him on front, he always seems to fill so much more slowly than other exploders. Despite his tanking abilities, I often find myself preferring Ragnagord, TDS or even Carnex, weirdly enough.
Another weird thing I do: When I installed the game, it came with Mana numbers turns off. I only found out what the function did after like… two months of playing. And then I found it too distracting after playing without it for so long. So I turned it off again and am likely the only player who doesn’t know how much Mana her troops need in the first place or currently have.
Both parts of that fight - against Scorpius and against Titania - can be hard for a newbie. Are you on “normal” difficulty?
I think it would help if you could tell us at least if/what legendaries you have. Many people here are being really good at coming up with teams supporting one or two legendary or epic troops with some commons you are very likely to have.
Yes, that’s the one.
The teams I’ve saved and therefore can remember is:
Scarlet, Florian, Summoner and Ferit. Team Score: 4132
Scarlet, Summoner, Serpent, Ferit. TS: 4467
Alastair, Ferit, Merlion, Black Beast. TS: 3617
Summer Knight, Florian, Fey Cap, Rowanne. TS: 2427
Legendaries are troops with an orange border. They’re very often very powerful and good teams can be built around them. They are not in Gold Chests, though, but only found in the other types of chests. If you have any of those, it could make things easier.
What about your hero? Usually, in the beginning of the game, the hero is one of the most powerful units. What classes and weapons do you have unlocked already? Sometimes, a mastered class and the class weapon can be good enough to turn a battle around.
OK, I’m not seeing any obvious teams out of what you are using that would give you a big advantage, but I’ll suggest one strategy that can give you a fighting chance against a much more powerful opponent. You might need to work on a couple troops and level them up a bit for this to work reliably, but once you’re set-up, it will be very solid for you.
The concept is “looping” and the idea is that you have two troops that can make mana for each other and get an extra turn each time they cast, so they keep passing the turn back and forth and the enemy never gets a chance to move. The important part of this is that as you’re looping back and forth with those two troops, you’re also filling up your third and fourth troop or constantly doing damage to your opponent.
For example, hellcat, alchemist, goblin rocket, goblin rocket is a team that needs zero traits to be successful and can beat almost any team you’ll face. Hellcat makes red to fill alchemist (and also damages a random troop every time it casts). Alchemist makes yellow to fill Hellcat. Any extra mana that either makes fills up the Goblin Rockets. Once one or both Goblin Rockets are full, they can cast, getting an extra turn and doing damage to an enemy troop. This team doesn’t need any traits to be effective and you don’t even really need to level the troops up very much (the higher your level, the faster things will go, though).
There are other reliable looping combinations (green seer & giant spider, for example), but they usually need some powerful troops behind them to be really effective.
There are several troop rarities in the game, indicated by the color of the card. Since you can “ascend” cards by sacrificing duplicates in the Troops menu, there are two rarities. “Base rarity” is the lowest possible rarity for the card. “Rarity” is the current rarity of the card and determines the maximum level of the card. Cards with higher base rarity tend to have higher stats AND more powerful abilities than cards with lower base rarities.
The rarities are:
Common (Silver)
Rare (Green)
Ultra-Rare (Dark Blue)
Epic (Purple)
Legendary (Orange)
Mythic (Light Blue)
In general, legendary and mythic cards are so powerful you build teams around them. Cards of other rarities can be good, but not so overwhelming you’d go nuts about having them.
So you have Krystalnex but doesn’t like to used it? That’s totally the opposite of me! I used it a lot, for PvP/GW/Soul Farming.
I have it both on Blue/Green day at top spot, sometime even 2 of it! My green team is Krystalnex/Baba yaka/Kystalnex/Paladin. With some board control, I can gain endless extra turns with it, even more so paired with Valkryie outside of GW. Its Stone Skin trait make it usable as skull tank as well. I rarely use its summon alibity.
With an addition of Glitterclaw, I kinda want to replace Krystalnex in 3rd slot, being that they’re both dragon with self-enchanted with the same color combo, still doesn’t get to try it though. I also want to try Queen Titania on red day defense, but no luck getting her yet… T^T
Good luck! It can take a little practice to get the hang of looping (and some battles, the board just won’t line up for you), but once you get it down, it will allow you to punch way above your weight class. Just watch out for Queen Mab and other troops that can freeze you - they will stop looping teams in their tracks.
