Same here, my point was how the only things you can spend them on are finite in number. The Ingots “economy” has a recurring “faucet” but no likewise recurring “drain” … it’s almost like accumulating Treasure Maps, except with zero ability to actually use or spend them.
Also, I just got Topasarth (new) today, making a 4th gem dragon in 8 eggs (a cumulative streak of crafting 3 eggs for one new dragon). Still cannot craft any of the Dragonite weapons (missing Sapphirax for one and Garnetaerlin for the other), and the probabilities only get worse from here. Overall, I have 4:2:1:1 in Amethialas, Rubirath, Emeraldrin and now Topasarth.
Update: And the pet milestone dropped a Major Orb of Chaos, so Topasarth is now fully ready for action (saves me from needing a handful of Celestial stones and a huge pile of Arcanes).
25th dragon was my 8th Sapphirax. Still only 4 unique dragons. I see myself quitting the game permanently should this ‘luck’ continue to next mythic Friday.
Ouch, that places you at an approximately 6% cumulative probability.
I am still logging more data in my spreadsheet as people post – for example, here is how it breaks down by day-of-week:
Explanation/caveats
The gray columns on the right aggregate the data per day-of-week: mean, standard deviation, and maximum deviation (relative to standard deviation). For example, on Wednesdays the mean is about 3 dragons, but the maximum deviation is 1 Emeraldrin ( = 2 below mean, or about 2.7 standard deviations).
“Unspecified” indicates aggregate data that is lacking confirmed craft dates (because not everyone posts or tracks gem dragons as they craft them). It is still included in other analyses and aggregates.
Too bad there’s no trading cause Sapphirax is the last one I need.
Stratelier, you can add one datapoint from me. I got an Amethialas on a Friday. I remember this because I still needed the purple and blue dragons and I figure why not open an egg only during those days where the adventure board colors match. It worked this time but looking at your chart, it might have been just dumb luck.
I’m not sure how you are calculating the chance of 6%…I’ve now had 17 duplicates in a row…so ‘what is the chance of rolling a 67% probability outcome (i.e. the four dragons I already have) 17 times in a row?’.
And it’s a sorry thing to say, but the devs won’t care if you quit. They aren’t interested in retaining anyone. You’re just a potential dollar sign to them. “There’s a sucker born every minute”, and to them it’s all of us.
Yup. Just tried the 6th egg I’ve scraped and saved the dragonnite together for and hoping for a 4th dragon. Nope. I now have 3 of a kind with Sapphirax. 50% of my dragons all of just one. So disappointing.
Theres a player i talked to today that claims he got 1700 dragonite on a vault weekend using only around 20 paloozas and he waited for them to finish if he encountered a dragonite gnome.
Maybe we’re all doing it wrong but then again i cant seem to make dragonite gnomes appear at all and i used 14 paloozas last vault event.
Personally its not something that is required for >me< to enjoy the game and im not putting anymore wasted effort into it. I’ll probably never ger Dia and thats fine with me.
I may get one per palooza. Need over a few minutes remaining to get full chance. I believe I’ve received 50-60 when I waited for it to end. Getting twenty 85s in a row sounds suspect.
It took me 7/8 eggs (I opened 2 at once with 1 being the last dragon). But I rarely get any Dragonite and probably won’t get my first Diamantina before 2025.
