Push button, receive bacon!!!
Thank you! That is finally something I can wrap my head around. Not sure if I agree, but I think I understand the core of the issue.
p.s. My “socialist” comment refers to the idea that we all need to be in the same boat and no one person or group should have an advantage we don’t. If they figure something out that separates them from the pack, they need to be reined back in. I have encountered a lot of threads that have an equalizing focus.
Wtb patch notes
I dont understand. But im hungry now
It’s also worth repeating Sirrian’s point that part of the problem is that the tasks were balanced when the game had a different economy (e.g., when PvP battles cost about half what you got for a win). They didn’t nerf the tasks then (when they should’ve), presumably for fear of inciting a riot, so now they’re best bet to get it back to a place of sanity is the apples-to-oranges rebalancing that will happen.
Even a 100% reduction in end-game rewards would still give end-gamers hundreds of gems and glory keys a week, which is far more than anyone outside the top guilds get. Right now it’s not linear at all. You go from being outside the Top 20 or so and getting, at best, a hundred or two gems/glory keys per week to being in the Top 20 and getting a couple thousand.
If the developers want to make money do more of the $4.99 packs. Base it on the Kingdom for the week ex.
$4.99 Troop pack random troop based on kingdom every day with chances to win higher rarities
3x Common 75%
2x Rare 12%
2x Ultra Rare 8%
1x Epic 4%
1x Legendary 1%
$4.99 Traitstone pack same thing from minors to celestials just have the kingdom determine colors/
Ex.
3x minor (either color) 75%
2x Major (either color) 12%
2x Runic (either color) 8%
1x Arcane 4%
1x Celestial 1%
(even at Level 1000 I would buy this pack, I never have enough minors)
I dont agree that the guild tasks are giving out ‘free’ or even uneven rewards.
Here is an example:
The guild task for 10 gems costs 38,000 gold. This is around 1,250 gold from each person for 10 gems.
The store in game lets you buy 1000 gold for 10 gems, i.e. 10 gems for 30 players is only worth 30,000 gold. Guilds are actually overpaying.
Thanks @Mr.Strange for your input. It has been very informative.
I agree that 38,000 gold for 10 gems is somewhat overpaying. But in a guild of 30 it’s actually buying 300 gems, not 10.
Its actually perfectly linear, directly proportional to time played and gold input to guild.
I just thought of another way they could do it from Mr. Strange’s comment. Instead of everyone getting the task reward it would only be the player getting the reward for the individual task and then there are guild rewards for the number of tasks completed in a week. The only way I could see this working is if all tasks were available at a reduced cost, so people would not need to complete tasks that do not benefit them.
In the store 300 gems is only worth 30,000 gold… using the 10 gems for 1,000 gold rate.
There is also an option to buy 30,000 gold for 240 gems which is just slightly cheaper than the guild reward.
Are you serious @Mr.Strange ???
Do you think we would let players who put in no effort to remain in our guild ?
Yes we get lots of keys and gems . BUT we all contribute to the guild.
It also alternates with some contributing more some weeks and less the next. It all works out in the end
PS. I ment are u serious in a good way lol
this games dev team is some of the best ive seen in online games.
You are not in the top ten guilds for long if you don’t turn over the players who stop delivering.
I don’t understand why the point is still being argued.
It’s already set in stone that guild tasks will be changed. I’m expecting close to a 1/3 reduction in Glory Keys and Gems earned. (5 Glory Keys per task, 3 Gems per task, that sorta thing.)
I’m also guessing task prices will be reduced, as well as plenty of brand new tasks to play with.
Whether it’s for Gold or Guild Tokens, I’m assuming a temporary booster to be implemented. (50% Gold increase for 3-24 hours.)
I’m also assuming Traitstone implementation. (5 Minors per task, OR 2 Runics per task, OR 1 Arcane, etc.)
Granted these are assumptions, so I could be making an of myself, but I’m hopeful this’ll be a fun new implementation to keep my interest. As it is, I can play the game on the first day of the reset, donate 300k+ Gold, then wait for the next week, every week.
That’s how many resources I earn, feels like I’ve spent more time talking to people in-game than actually playing the game this week. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not close to bored with the game (still try to login every hour), but I quickly burn through my interest in PvP after reset day.
Here’s to hoping this update gives me reason to play more than once a week!
Agreed :). Bring in the nerf bat!
It’s interesting to watch everyone argue about the values of items of artificial scarcity.
I’d prefer ever new troop was given to everyone as a fully traited and leveled Mythic and spend the focus on game balance to keep the multitudes of team dynamics.
I am finally to a point where I have a reasonable number of souls to level any troop I want, so I can play the game in combinations I like.
I still do not have enough traitstones to play all the combinations I would like.
So keep watching developers who’s salaries are paid for by keeping things scarce argue that things need to be more scare, and remember, a chess board comes with all the squares and all the pieces.
And that you paid money for that chess set
Once! but such is the life of “f2p” games :"(
at least its not pay to win, only pay to progress faster
