So at level 200 the game turns to complete BS?

But your games will really last forever. You won’t be finishing a game under 10 minutes, which is too much. You can win every game with playing slime/goblin shaman/slime/green seer, without any traits on any of them, but it will also take you very long to grow slimes. .

Knight Coronet, Alchemist, Valkyrie, Banshee is actually quite fast now.
The Knight gets filled all the time with two transformers feeding into him, and his damage combined with Banshees is great now and completely independent of skulls and not weak to stoneskin defences.

I was referring the coctraice team, not yours :slight_frown:

I know and i hope, i clarifed that enough in my post.
I just wanted to , that in GoW you can win against almost any team by choosing a right one for yourself. Thats simply a fact thats very very seldom in todays Free2Play games landscape.

And by the way, not everyone can play your recommended team, because slime is not easy to get (if you miss the reward some mounth ago).

I was just giving an example of another team with 99% win with no traits requirements. But you are right, there are no unbeatable team, and even with a little resources spent you can do great things.

Well that was a long interesting read. Thinking back it’s hard to remember level 200… I do think I felt like I’d worked so hard to get better just to be given twice as hard a game to play. No reward for activity. Now I’m here at level 1,091 and yes all my troops I play are mythic and yes most fully traited. Now I go through the hardest pvp and get to number one in about 20 minutes losing maybe one fight. I don’t switch teams, I just use my name bunch unless I’m bored. Pvp is a great way to get gold

Keep in mind, I play this game on the Switch. I don’t find the pvp setup to be unfair and I’ve been doing it since my hero has been around lvl 100. You have 3 opponents 2 choose from. The 1st is generally, lower army strength than yours. 2nd is on or near par. 3rd opponent generally has a higher army strength than yours. It’s really not about matching players against similar levels but about matching the strength of their armies with yours/

The only thing I find unfair is how often the ai cheats but that is for another discussion. Having said that, the ai is also not very smart so if you have a good strategy then more often than not you will win against opponent. I’ve beaten lvl 1k+ players and I have not used my all mythic deck since changing class. I have only 1 mythic, 1 epic, and 1 ultra rare troop along with my mythic weapon wielding heroin my current army and I almost always go for the most difficult opponent.

Note that this thread is ancient; for context, PvP in 1.0.9 was very different. You had only one opponent presented to you and had to pass with gems or take what you got. There was also no “1-troop preview” outside of scouting. There was no concept of pvp rank yet so you basically got to top tier for rewards and that was it (no leaderboard).

Note, yet another reason why old threads should automatically be locked.

This is a thread from 2016. Something changed in 2016.

Beforehand, PvP matchmaking was just PvP matchmaking. What this person is complaining about is a “limiter” that was added for when you are less than 200. Without the limiter, the game might match you against an endgame player you’d have no chance of beating. To be friendlier to newbies, they changed the game so that below level 200, it avoided certain matches. After level 200, it’d go back to giving you endgame players, but by this point you had challenges, explores, and a bunch of other things to go do when PvP frustrated you.

That can make it kind of a shock if you’ve got a decent newbie team before level 200. Matchmaking seems to pick harder opponents if you’re winning a lot. So you can grind your way through a ton of easy wins, then hit level 200 and the game says, “Oh, you think you’re hot stuff now?” and then you have a bad time. This only happens to a “lucky” few. Most people don’t end up with a superb team, so they go from “eh 3 trophies aren’t my thing yet” to “yeah why did I pick a 3 trophy match?”.

It’s probably still true that early PvP isn’t super great for a low-level player, but I feel like at that level players should camp Arena and Explores. Maybe that’s not what they want to do. That’s how it goes in F2P games. I want to play Arena, but the only reward I actually care about is Champion XP. GoW wants me to do faction Delves. It can take those faction Delves and sit on them, I’m playing PvP.
