One statement is about himself and the other statement is about potentially other people?
To me that’s awesome… I love the idea of boosting my favorite troops, and to do that I need the rarest tokens.
I think I’m not really right for this topic though. I play all the time and enjoy Gems of War a great deal. Reading a lot of the posts above, it seems the people here only play a little bit, and only come back to play when the devs add a new achievement.
I love token and trophies and gnomes and gold… I’m a happy gamer here in this community, not an angry/bitter/jaded player.
You’ve got the same problem as FeelTheBern, you didn’t come here to talk about the achievement, you came to talk about the people who don’t like it. In addition, you decided to slide in some flexes.
Uh, because the other achievements they added didn’t take 100+ hours of mindless grinding to achieve. Not hard to understand.
Please don’t assume about other people.
I dont’ play “a little bit”, I have played Gems of War over 1000 hours based on Steam profile + time spent on mobile. All in all, I’m playing it more as an habit than anything. I don’t mind spending an hour every day to help my guild, get the few last mythics I don’t have, that’s fine. When I’m done with that, I can play other games.
Here basically, to get 100% completion again, I’d have to stop playing anything else for 2 months. I don’t find it appealing at all.
Also, the worst thing, that we haven’t mentioned yet, is that it opens the door for them to add more such achievements in the future. Why would I invest 2 months of my gaming time if they’re going to screw my 100% yet again with another grindy achievement next update ?
So yes, I’m asking developers to review their statement.
As I said, I enjoy Gems of War. I like playing. I enjoy the new Explore mode. I like working towards making my troops more powerful. The achievement allows me to works towards something while making my troops stronger.
I’m a happy person, I appreciate having things to do. I’m not here to complain, or put the devs down, or go on and on about how awful this achievement is.
Negativity is rewarded here. Put downs are rewarded here. Not positivity. Not enjoyment.
I am having fun farming trophies and playing a game I enjoy immensely, that’s not something someone as negative as @Slypenslyde wants to see or here.
Truth is truth.
Sorry if me having fun and enjoying the game makes people hate me, but I enjoy letting the devs know not all of their players despise this achievement.
Yes it has happened in the past with some games, trophies have been made easier/harder after a trophy list has been created with a game. I can’t think of any specific titles off the top of my head though right now. If devs wanted to change it then they could.
I myself could not care less about this achievement. But I get the point that some people that is caring that their general opinion is - this achievement does not fit with the others, the others was 50 times easier to obtain compared to this one. Some players like @Zeddicus2017 obvious was looking forward to an achievement like this one.
So yeah, its no right or wrong here, as all the sides is totally understandable.
Negativity with reasons perhaps, as every change WILL never please everyone, and complains will therefore happen.
That doesn’t feel quite fair. Sly is pointing out the flaws that keep players from immensely enjoying the game, in order to improve it. I doubt that Sly, or any other player providing feedback about which parts of the game they don’t enjoy, minds in any way that you are having fun farming trophies.
This is really a “want to hear” vs. “need to hear” situation. I’m sure the devs want to hear that you are enjoying the game, and it’s good to let them know about it. However, unless they want to cater exclusively to players with a similar play style than yours, they need to hear about all those that are not enjoying the game, their reasons for not enjoying themselves. If there’s a funny smell coming from the toilet it won’t get fixed by praising how nice the carpet looks.
Comparing my enjoyment of Gems of War to a funny smell coming from a toilet is exactly the kind of feedback I expect these days.
As I said, positive thoughts about the game get hate, where as constant criticisms get rewarded.
I’m happy with the Achievement. I like tokens and medals and upgrading my troops. The achievement is extra incentive to do so…
I’m glad you think my enjoyment of the game is comparable to a funny smell from a toilet though, as you basically proved my point that positive and happy opinions aren’t welcome here.
A reasonably attentive reader would have come to the conclusion that I didn’t compare your enjoyment to anything. And that I compared your feedback to praising the carpet. Are you sure you are understanding the other contributions here correctly?
I complain a lot of delves but haven’t been rewarded for that .
It’s praising the carpet because I like the achievement?
I love Gems of War, I’m sorry others do not. I can’t help or change that, and I’m not trying to.
I simply gave a positive opinion about the achievement, and somehow that warranted multiple replies.
I’m not sure what that has to do with my liking the achievement, but thank you for the response.
I think the issue people are having with your opinion is that the way you’re stating it is too Manichean.
You’re saying that because I (we) complain about the achievement, it means I (we) don’t like Gems of War. That just isn’t true. If you’re in a relationship, telling your partner that you don’t like something (s)he’s doing doesn’t mean you don’t love him/her anymore, right ?
@All: I’d like to avoid this post being closed so let’s all keep civil and avoid derailing too much please
In all of my posts I have stated clearly I like and am enjoying the achievement, and I have made clear I like and enjoy playing Gems of War.
I do not believe I’ve been uncivil, or derailed the conversation.
OK let me see if I understand what transpired while I was at work. “Say my name thrice and I’m givin’ you the business.”
Zeddicus showed up with his cool zombie paint job to tell us:
“I like trophies.”
We didn’t have to press for more, he went on to say he likes trophies, is a well-adjusted person who never complains. Not at all like that guy Slypenslyde who accuses him of making personal attacks instead of the point of the thread. In conclusion: he likes trophies, and he really hopes Santa reads the forums because he’s cleaning behind his ears.
OK.
Someone pointed out this was a very strange reply, bordering on spending more time discussing some personal appraisal of my posts than talking about the thread, which is about, “Is this trophy good?”, not whether Zeddicus flosses twice and always puts the lid down. He concludes by comparing it to ignoring a funny toilet smell (this one trophy) to some fancy carpet (every other trophy.)
Back at the Waterfront Village, Zeddicus is mad.
“I. Like. TROPHIES.”
Zeddicus is confused in this post, uncertain why a thread that says a trophy is bad design is not a place where his universal love of trophies is welcomed. He mixes up the analogy and thinks the smelly toilet is “all trophies” and the carpet is “this trophy” and is offended. If there’s a trophy for missing the point, he’s making progress!
I’m going to skip a few because I want to shout out to my other homies who have been on the internet for at least a few years and cringe every time a sentence starts with:
Hoo boy. These always go places. “I simply said an opinion and now everybody’s all OFFENDED.” Yeah, that’s sort of how opinions work. No matter how simply you state an unwelcome opinion, it stays unwelcome. This isn’t “Trophy Celebration Station 2.0 - More Trophies Less Problems”. It’s a thread about whether one specific trophy is too grindy compared to the rest.
Anyway back to narration.
I’m kind of with Razhil. We’ve covered:
- Zeddicus really likes trophies.
- He’s a victim because he didn’t get a trophy for saying that in this specific thread.
- He’s a better person than me because he likes getting trophies.
- I’m a big fat meanie trophy hater.
- Apparently OP was wrong, this thread’s about how much we like getting trophies.
I mean, I learned something today. I thought we were talking about whether going full-tilt 100 max Epic Level troops or whatever was a little too much sticker shock for a new achievement. But it turns out this was a thread about hating all trophies in all shapes and forms all along.
I’ll close with the best joke in the thread. Other veterans of the internet know the probability of this statement being true is a nice round number:
I do not believe I used the letter ‘e’ anywhere in this post. I simply stated a nonoffensive summary.
I believe trophies are now a bonus to farming Explore. I enjoy token farming, which includes gold and trophies.
Getting the Achievement is something I’m excited and motivated to do. I apologize if my enthusiasm for accomplishing things in Gems of War upsets anyone.
And since this topic is about a token/medal achievement, I’m not sure why you made your entire post about trophies.
I think at this point the appropriate word is “self-awarewolf”.
if they really want to screw with Ramsey they should have elite medal ALL troops as an achievement
