If a low level player puts all of their gold into their guild, they won’t ever field a team that can pull in the gold in massive amounts. They simply won’t progress the same way because they’ll be lacking in other resources.
You’re one person. I know simply from looking at the guilds I’ve been in that you (and I) are the exception to the rule.
I just whup 'em. Reload and whup the next bunch. Been doing it since launch day. Will probably do it the day I die.
My phone alt, who like me is VIP level 0, went 50-0 in PvP last week, none of her troop lineup is higher base rarity than ultra-rare. She eats both mythics and Maws for breakfast. The thing is, she knows how to play.
Your winning percentage is virtually meaningless, at least in the context of this particular discussion.
As others have said, it’s all about time invested. 50 matches isn’t going to generate even close to the average amount of resources. Take a look at the leaderboards…
Thats not exponential.
The in game shop states 10 gems is 1000 gold. If you are in a guild of 30 you each pay 1,250 gold for those 10 gems. If your guild onoy has half the members then you pay price the gold. Its proportional. There’s no reason to be in a guild on your own.

That assumes that they have an interest in training troops they won’t ever use. We all know that once any one of about 12 troops is fully traited, “progression” in the game is essentially stagnated. The AI isn’t very good, so invades become a function of winning efficiency rather than winning efficacy. The speed of invades further increases the “gold grab” which in turn continues to feed the cycle.
Its really not that difficult to make a team that can win quick.
3 of the 4 troops in my current team have no traits. You really dont need dozens of fully traited and mythic level troops. I change my team for a while when im bored but stick to 3 teams.
That’s exactly my point.
You just said low level players investing in a guild cannot build an efficient team. Thats why I said the above, implying that they can.
What changes to the system are you suggesting?
They don’t have the resources to build a team of the same efficiency as the top level players. Look at the leaderboards, they’re self-explanatory.
As for changes to the system, I honestly don’t mind what they’re doing right now, which is why I chimed in in the first place. Making stuff harder to get is only going to improve the longevity of the game.
That sounds right. End game players should have better teans but it is still quite easy for lower level players to make a very good team.
Making the game take longer is a deal breaker for me. I already know I wont get there but slowing it down further would just make it feel monotonous
Slowing down progression through artificially inflating the economy? Sure, I’m with ya.
The best way to slow things down, without introducing monotony, is to give us more things to do. Explore mode was the first of hopefully many “diversions” to the normal grind.
Considering you can make several competitive teams with just 4 Commons, Troops have little to do with this. Having multiple 5-star Kingdoms is what really separates the two groups.
I think that in order to make meaningful progress in this game you have to be in a fairly active guild, and this may be a bit unfair. However, I also think that those who play more should receive more.
That being said, it would probably be more prudent to discuss these matters after we see what the guild update has in store for us, at least for PC/mobile.
Totally agree.
I think the devs have acknowledged that the guild rewards aren’t balanced, which is why they are doing something about it.
I applaud them, so far they seem to care about the game and its players and try to fix most things where a material imbalance is perceived.
You will never get everyone to believe that everything is fair, but as long as the vast majority are satisfied, that should be the way to go.
Anyone use the new dragon yet?? Worth the traitstones at all?
If you have Famine, or still haven’t traited Soothsayer, trait them instead. Everything else that uses those colors have mediocre at best traits. The real question would be “is he worth the 1350 gems I’ll probably have to spend on event keys”. To which I would answer, hes okay, but if you are low on resources and don’t get much per week, there are probably better things worth targeting. He’s fun sometimes, but not really meta-shaping as maw teams still have mercy, and impervious/stun/mana drain is everywhere anyway (mostly on the same troop).
So this week’s irritating ‘meta’ defence is Khorvash/Valkyrie/Mab/Manticore…
I’ve had it roughly 15 out of 20 ‘hard’ matches so far… It’s not that hard to beat, but all that mana drain is annoying…
I am starting to feel that Khorvash is a bit over-powered (and I’m using him a lot as well as facing him)… His spell deals too much damage - two casts will almost always kill the first two enemies - I.e. Effectively one-shot kills, plus mana drain, plus stunning off the traits. That’s too much for the mana cost, and way too much true damage…
Edit: Khorvash also has an amazingly good trio of traits - the only legendary troop with both Leader and Stoneskin, and a very useful legendary trait? Methinks we got a bit carried away with this one.
(Only Knight Coronet also has Leader and Stoneskin, and that’s way less powerful)
Proposal: change Stoneskin to Armoured, give it +1 mana cost and -2 spell damage. And it’d still be a top tier legendary. @sirrian what do you think?
I’m not sure if it’s the EK that’s the issue. Manticore is, that’s what prevents you from disposing of EK before it becomes a big problem. Manticore cost should go up from 9 to 11. This troop is a nuisance of the year already, between Impervious, fast attack self-buff AND empowered trait on top of that. Allowing it to re-charge with this low mana cost is way too much crowd control on a blue card.
I honestly just skip manticore teams at the moment, it’s a waste of time. I can beat them, but it takes too long and there’s the off-chance that AI will just keep mana-draining your key card prolonging the game to a nonsense degree and/or simply kill you, because all of a sudden manticore has 70 attack and gets skulls from a cascade. Not a fun card at the moment.
