What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
I was screenshotting some stats for the week when my phone alerted me to a Guild Pet Rescue. I left the Guild screen, clicked on Games. Minfernus was displayed in the prime Event spot. Clicked Minfernus, was shown I had 58 mins to go. Clicked fight and took the first battle. After I won the first battle, the Pet Rescue pop-up window alert appeared.
In my opinion, the Pet Rescue pop-up window alert should have appeared as soon as I returned to the world map, or even when I changed tabs within the Guild screens. It certainly should not have appeared once I was already doing the Pet Rescue!
OTOH, it was nice to see that the Pet Rescue was available immediately in the Games section. In the past, I’ve often had to click in and out of various menus trying to get it to trigger (the PvP menu seems best).
How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
While this is the first time I’ve seen this particular bug, my previous paragraph alludes to some of the frustrating issues with Pet Rescue that have been around since it was introduced.
