I have not gotten any mimics for a very long time. This week they started appearing like crazy, and they seem to be untouchable. I have gotten 6 or 7 already, and have not been able to win one battle, and I am using my Assassin Team that I have very good success with even against the Mimics until now.
I haven’t seen Hoard Mimics in a long time, even though some days I have 3 regular Mimic battles each session. I never lost any of them tbh.
Luckily I got HM almost a year ago iirc, but none since then. 
Slayer/Zuul teams work great against regular Mimic battles 
When I see four opponents using the same mana color, I immediately think of The Gray King. So, against 4 regular mimics I use the following team. Three taps of a purple gem by The Gray King finishes them nicely.

I was talking about both. HM and regular Mimics, which always appeared a lot to me. Sometimes back to back to back each explore run.
