I think it is a bengal cat.
How is this going to effect Guild Wars scoring when your troop gets transformed into the wrong color?
I don’t understand how adding a completely random effect into a skill based game was ever a good idea on the drawing board, but it made it this far and it’s terrible.
I would rather have Jar Jar Binks follow me around for the next three months as my sidekick rather then this nonsense.
There is zero benefit in this randomness for the players.
P.S. Zeddicus2017 that’s one cool looking cat
I’m confused, which half of the troop are we supposed to get?
Are they cut lengthwise or sideways?
I sure prefer the upper half with only mana gain and the first trait.
Please be more explicit about this. What does it bringing it in line with transform mean? Counting as a kill? Halving the troop’s level? Or just enough so that valravens and gnomes will drop their loot if lycanthropy triggers on them?
Edit: I just saw that you edited the original post. Nevermind then.
It’s really disappointing to not get our beast troops traited nor elite gold when lycanthropy hits. It means that I have wasted too much time and resources on getting 76 beast troops to elite gold.
THIS! Is exactly my frustration. There is nothing “strategic” about lycanthropy as it triggers RANDOMLY, the gems can’t be removed, and the scenarios where it MIGHT have a positive impact on my game play experience are exceedingly rare.
I understand that you have committed to this trash but why oh why can you not run your Schnapsidee (look it up) past the beta testers or community and/or listen to our feedback?!
Sorry about the all caps yelling but it’s warranted.
Also, @Saltypatra @OminousGMan @Jeto could you please take your forum moderation role seriously and at least temporarily ban Denthegod from the forums. They are homophobic, sexist and deliberately trolling others to agitate them. Thanks
Still needed for kingdom power, and likely if you’re at the “if x troop is a beast, it gets a medal” stage, then there weren’t really other troops you’d have chosen instead, right?
Because at that point, it’s just elite-leveling at one’s convenience — I medal on Sundays, just evenly spread around my kingdoms
He is what is known as a “reply guy”
Please…. you know you’re playing right into their hands right? They need a reason to silence me. I’m telling people to stop playing their game. The ironic thing is you’re the one supporting a game whose developers you feel are ignoring you.
@Eika I only laugh at the ones that profusely refuse to help themselves especially when others have shown them the solution MULTIPLE times. There’s a word for people like that in Mandarin Chinese. It’s called ‘MayYo Yong’. It literally means ‘useless’.
Yes, I was medaling elementals, divines, undeads. because hero has a good weapon that summons them. but since lycanthropy was announced on a devs stream, I gave beasts priority. There are lots of other troops that I had rather medaled.
Be careful in the way you are talking, because it is ZERO gain. Uncle Rambo has been a drunk addict since he was a young man. It is serious, it is nothing to laugh about, and hes the last one you would call for useless.
Sorry to hear this, then. I had also been prioritizing beasts as I went kingdom to kingdom, so I got “burned” too, to be clear.
I guess all I mean is that was I really when, in reality, my only actual goal is to have 10 silver elite in each kingdom? And then 15 gold, 20 gold after that (meaning basically all but the very most useless will be elite anyway)?
I don’t really think so, because the times I would have preferred a medalled Bastite Priestess over a medalled Pharaoh Hound are so niche it doesn’t really matter to me.
Ultimately a bad example, I know, because Pharaoh Hound is actually really useful, but It was the best I could come up with while away from my Xbox (and, therefore, the ability to search troops) to have two troops in the same kingdom, of the same rarity, of which one meets your wanted types (Divine), and one is a beast you might have medalled instead.
But all that said, I’d definitely be down for having the ability in-game to re-pin and re-arrange medals; I would love to get me 3 Nyshas back off Ketras, as I’m sure someday I’ll be about The Gray King or some other troop
Thread locked due to inappropriate behaviour and breaking the community guidelines. It will re open after the weekend.
Please cool off.
Yes stuff is broken (by community standards, and hopefully developmental standards), Yes the developers tried to make the game better by finally adding in some new game mechanics, and is it perfect? Well, no. BUT they are trying to actually make the game better.
Do they need hotfixes instead of relying on major updates: yes. Do they have the man power to do that: only they know the answer to that question. CAN they even do hotfixes instead of major updates: depends on how many people they have working for them and many other factors.
Even as “players” we have to see both sides of of a game. Developers/studios are there to make money and on their end that’s what is focused on, but they also don’t want to alienate their player base as to lose them.
I think both sides need to be more open thinking about the other with this whole new Lycanthropy issue.
FYI developers, don’t go around saying issues that give rewards to people (that clearly don’t anymore) are not bugs. That makes players angry and ask themselves, why do I even waste my time playing/buying your game then.
Biggest issue I have with lycanthropy is that it isn’t fun.
They seem to know how to do the power gem thing correctly though, as they did it for Puzzle Quest 3.
-
The red one does what is essentially enrage + explode like a doomskull.
-
The yellow one destroys the vertical column that it was matched from and gives barrier.
-
The green one is basically like faerie fire a random enemy while creating another gem on the board that can be accumulated for multiplied mana.
-
The purple one also acts like faerie fire, but it spawns purple gems when matched (which would have been way less annoying than lycanthropy).
-
And there is a brick block one that can’t be matched, but double clicking on it creates skulls and doesn’t end the turn.
If it would be just that. Something not being fun can be ignored, like Arena for me, Like it ? play it , don’t like it? don’t play it. Lycanthropy as effect is not my favorite but I can deal with it when comes from a spell. But these annoying gems are everywhere.
They are not simply not fun they do the opposite.
Please devs, remove this lycantrophy everywhere. I can forget about the arena because it is just in the corner, but this lycantrophy gem is so annoying and making me think it’s time to retire on this game because it is not fun for me anymore. Can you put it in the other corner so only the player who enjoys it can play it? @Saltypatra the saltiest girl in town
