Indolator of Sloth will be available this week for 400 Glory in the shop as well as in Event Chests, and will appear in Glory, Gem, and Guild chests in 3-4 weeks’ time.
There are 6 battles that players can encounter during the event: Bone Daemon, The Infernal Machine, Tankbot 2000, Ironjaw, Lamashtu, and Tartarus. Battles cycle through a series of rounds that repeat each time.
Round 1 – This round contains an equal chance of both the Bone Daemon and Ironjaw battles. After defeating one of the battles, players will move to round 2.
Round 2 – This round contains an equal chance of both The Infernal Machine and Tankbot 2000 battles. After defeating one of the battles, players will move to round 3.
Round 3 – This round contains an equal chance of both the Lamashtu and Tartarus battles. After defeating one of the battles, players will move back to round 1.
Scoring
You can find the following rewards for each of the different battles you may encounter.
Bone Daemon: 2 Infernal Gears
The Infernal Machine: 3 Infernal Gears
Tankbot 2000: 4 Infernal Gears
Ironjaw: 5 Infernal Gears
Lamashtu: 6 Infernal Gears
Tartarus: 7 Infernal Gears
Infernal Gears are worth 10 points. The battles against The Infernal Machine, Ironjaw, and Tartarus each drop a variable number of Infernal Gears (on average about 1.18x the base amount).
The RNG on the weekly event rules is getting more out of hand than the actual RNG in game.
Seriously, why? Do you guys have any sort of sponsorship with MS Excel to keep us busy or are you realising that the game is becoming such a drag so we just get homework every week instead to figure out the scoring system and keep us busy?
To end with a positive note: thanks for finally adding the rules in-game! Oh, never mind.
Yeah, what the actual word-starting-with-F is this? All different values AND random drop rates, but the latter only on some of them? No thank you, devs, take it back now. Like I can be bothered to track all of that.
Not to mention Tankbot isn’t a Daemon and the other five are?
The scoring system is getting so unnecessarily abstruse that honestly, this time I’ve finally lost any will to try and report it to my fellow guildmates in the in-game chat (because you know, almost no one reads the forum, and there would be no other way they could know).
If you are counting on the community to spread the event rules, at least have the common sense to keep them simple and streamline the work.
So the plan of attack is probably - (Assuming there is no print error)
Round 1: Bone Daemon (2) vs Ironjaw (5-15)
Round 2: The Infernal Machine (3 - 9 avg. 3.54) vs Tankbot 2000 (4)
Round 3: Lamashtu (6) vs Tartarus (7-21)
Pick 'Ta-Ta-Iron'… unless you wish to gamble with The Infernal Machine
How much you’ll score at the end is up to RNG.
*** Big caveat - that there isn’t a print error, and the pairings aren’t actually Bone+TIM, Tank+Ironjaw
Note that this post originally stated incorrect pairings (shown after this paragraph), based on mis-interpreting the pairings based on the order of troops presented in OP. The error was pointed out by [Hisspa] below.
Round 1: Bone Daemon (2) vs The Infernal Machine (3 - 9)
Round 2: Tankbot 2000 (4) vs Ironjaw (5-15)
Round 3: Lamashtu (6) vs Tartarus (7-21)
I’m seriously considering going back to Candy crush at this point. At least you know what to expect from the available power ups. It takes me just one decent similar alternative game and i quit. Unfortunately, it won’t happen soon.
I’m really trying to see some positives here but they just aren’t there. I genuinely feel laughed at my GoW addicted face since 5.0. If it weren’t for the progress I made over the years, i was already a goner.
Anyhow, I’ll stop spreading the negative vibe. Won’t help anyway, on the contrary. Just needed it away from my chest. Good night.
There are no words…just why devs why? Does anyone like these constantly changing absurd scoring mechanics? Was feedback given in beta and just ignored?
Oh and we’re back to multiplying the collectibles by x10 for no reason whatsoever.
The Locked On Event this week (for the next 6 hours anyway) has pretty easy scoring… always take the lowest level enemy unless there is a Legendary or Mythic fight available. Super simple.
This next one, Keyed In, uh… let me figure this out. I think you’d always want to take Ironjaw in Round 1, Infernal Machine in Round 2, and Tartarus in Round 3. If those aren’t available, take the other ones.
Battle choice system is similar to/round 2 of Stakeout, but without the increasing points (and the added “x1.18”…):
Mildly similar to Stag Party:
Wanted to reiterate this:
And probably this, too (ideally should read, “minimalno* randomisation in scoring”, although if it really is to prevent leaderboard ties, then ¯_(ツ)_/¯):
I think the point ranges are an estimate based on previous events, which seems reasonably fair, but even if they turn out to be wrong, the x1.18 average of the base amount is realistically all you need – so ~5.9 for Ironjaw, ~3.54 for TIM, ~8.26 for Tartarus.
Summoning Solution (31-Aug) has the same 1.18 system, which had scores multiplied by:
1.0, 1.4, 2.0, 3.0 (very rare)
Beta testers can’t disclose due to NDA, but within the first hour it should be obvious if the same mechanism (multipliers) has been used here.
About 1.18x
Base 1.4x 2x 3x
3 4.2 6 9 (e.g. possible scores of 30,40,60,90)
5 7 10 15
7 9.8 14 21
Possible weights are 71% 1x, 20% 1.4x, 8% 2x, 1% 3x.
Personally, I averaged 1.082x in Summoning Solution
But what I can say, is that the devs usually aim for 1.18x multiplier, based on forum posts from every other RNG based World Event, so its not a massive leap to make that assumption
What’s going on? Is somebody bored of their job and trying to see how far they can push things before the get moved to a different assignment? Or fired? Did devs sign up to participate in some kind of study of player responses to increasingly complicated scoring methods that are only known to a small segment of players?
