For Great Science!

@Lyya is bombot being changed? Mine scales off of 1/2 armor and his magic is soooo low that with the sacrifice it would be near unplayable (it’s not just a visual thing, his scaling off of magic, I have 27 armor and 11 magic and he deals about 21 damage) I think his base damage is 1/2 magic (5 in my case) which is correct and then the scale is 1/2 armor, it’s been like this for 4 hours since I started playing today)

@Sirrian great to see the buffs to Adana! I really hope you’re considering a more substantive rework to Carnex in particular. It still feels very wrong that his ability is a skull exploder yet his legendary trait is skull damage oriented.

I think it would be cool if Carnex’s 3rd trait caused destroyed skulls to deal extra damage (like 2 per skull destoryed instead of 1… On the other hand that would make his spells armor boost less of a practical buff) what’s your opinion of this @Studs, @Sirrian

It may seem contradictory but you use his spell when the Skulls are spread out so they effectively reset the board. When the Skulls are clustered it’s a waste of a spellcast

Personally, I’d prefer if he did something really cool that plays off of him being a skull denier while still scaling with armor. My first thought was to change his legendary trait to: “Reflects 50% of armor as damage when takes spell damage.”

It would make him a really nasty troop since he would explode skulls and reflect spell damage while also building up lots of armor. And since he already has Armored and Impervious he would be a really great front-line tank.

If by “being changed” you mean “changed again since @Sirrian’s announcement yesterday” then I have no idea. It was changed from the (5 + 1/2 Armor) damage yesterday; now it is (3 + 1/2 Magic + 1/2 Armor) damage.

Thanks @Lyya for clarification, when I saw the comments I ended up thinking that they were getting rid of the armor boost altogether

@Sirrian, i just noticed how low is Dracos 1337 health, is it totally intended, as some sort of weakness and/or balance for all the extra health from Mech Bonds on Adana?
For a Legendary Mech Dragon wouldn’t be cooler to have Flying and more HP and maybe less armor to compensate?
Because he has wings and nothing else flies in Adana while there is a lot of troops with Mech Bond…

Before someone mentions it: Yeah i know that many troops, mostly dragons, have wings and don’t have Flying as a trait because each troop can have only three traits (so far), but i’m just suggesting the change because there is too much Mech Bond in Adana, wich makes sense like building groups of robots that work well together, like cogs of a bigger machine. But Dracos 1337 looks like a good “one man army”… i mean 'one dragon… robot…" well you got it.

So, that’s it, a suggestion for a small trade for a bit more of diversity.

Every Kingdom has it’s own unique synergy, so this is Adana’s.

Thematically, Mechs have lower Health and very high Armor. All the Mech Bonds do is sleightly overcome that weakness.

Yeah i can agree, but personally for the smaller mechs it makes more sense to be agrouped. Being bigger and stronger Dracos 1337 could be a little diferent, “playing solo” as Carnex (in this sense of not having Mech Bond).

But i don’t have high hopes on this minor suggestion, more like seeing a “wasted opportunity” to make it a little more unique and decided to comment. While i’m at it, Steam Turret could deal extra damage on troops with Flying, because you know… The flying troop would fall and hit the ground after the shot/explosion.

The low Health and High Armor is present on the Undead too, mostly on the skeletons, i figured this before assuming it’s because the bones are rigid, but their soul is weak since they are half-dead or the soul wastes too much energy to keep the bones together. This assumption about the soul using too much “energy” seems to apply to Mortani’s Will too.

The Health/Armor is opposite for Giants and Dwarves. They did a decent job making the races each feel a little unique.

Yeah, assuming that mostly everyone who plays has/had some contact with RPG’s books and Fantasy settings on other medias i find it a little surprising that this subject doesn’t shows up more often.

You give people too much credit. The majority of the players can barely fumble through the game without needing Easy Mode Troops, free handouts and explanations dumbed down to a 5-year old’s comprehension.

To most;

Elf = pointy ears and trees
Giant = big
Goblin = small and green
Human = hey, that’s what I am! hurdurdur

Maybe i’m a “tireless optimistic” but, i don’t believe anyone is worthless at first glance. Maybe some people are just too damn good at hiding their qualities… :laughing:

Noone has mentioned much about the current event troop, so i wonder did anyone else notice how he looks like the demolitionist from atlantis? Boombot looks like it was from atlantis as well.

Hey, thanks for carrying over the event key kingdom over to console; finally got my BUCKING Carnex.

Is it normal that the sacrified Bombot take the mana from the 2 Explodes before dying?

Yes. That is how it behaves. No word on if it is intended. Having something that uses brown in front of it will make it work correctly. The main issue is it explodes before it dies, rather than die first then explode.

Its just an process order thing. An interesting example is comparing Behemoth to Sylvanimora: Behemoth does the damage first then destroys the gems, which enables a rather amusing (if rare) capacity to cause skulls to finish off multiple troops - whereas Sylvanimora explicitly explodes the column first, meaning that it will do its skull damage up front to the first troop (and sometimes redundantly).

During development, pre-release troops often have their spell order rearranged for presumably precisely this reason.
