Boycotting this failed experiment of a World Event

It’s great ^1 that the devs are experimenting with ways to part more gems from their players through the World Event this week, but I’m not playing.

If we all continue to buy tiers then the experiment will have worked. They’ll have shown that they can change the goalposts and that players will keep spending gems. The result will be more of this kind of crap in the future. That’s why I’m not buying any more tiers than I usually do and I don’t care if my guild doesn’t finish the event for the first time in our history.

When the WE with higher than usual average tier requirements came along, I grumbled but spent the gems.

When the invasion weekend event was introduced, I grumbled but spent the gems.

When the RNG dragon eggs were introduced, I grumbled but spent the gems.

When the kingdom rework pet shop was introduced, I grumbled but spent the gems.

Enough is enough. I’m not spending gems on a crapshoot for a 9% ^2 chance of getting any serious points in this event.

^1 Sarcasm
^2 Probably not actually 9%

Too late for me unfortunately.

Probably going to get an orb of growth for my troubles.

But at least I’m helping my guild.
