Dont forget the accumulative 10% natural cleanse chance (or 5% if cursed), making it ~80%+ chance to cleanse

Now the question is if curse also halves the 40% chance

but to show I’m a good sport about it, here’s a team I’ve been using with The Gray King

Jar of Eyes - Corsair
Daughter of Ice
Sorrowful Banner (+2 Blue, +1 Brown, -1 Yellow), can also use Frozen Banner (+2 Blue, +1 Purple, -1 Red) or Trident Banner (+2 Blue, +1 Green, - 1 Yellow). I’m all in on The Gray King though.

Hunt, Insulated, Light Fingers, Backup, Deluge, Water Mastery, Thieves’ Guild

8/11 mana fill on a 3 blue gem match with 2 empowered for blue spam. Daughter of Ice creates the first Blue Storm. Overflow is easy in this team, so Jar fills, so you have a second source for Blue Storm and can explode the board to reset it if you end up casting TGK on Blue Gems.

Between Jar of Eyes and Backup talent, 1st slot almost always has something. Scurvy Seadog isn’t all that important, even if sometimes it dies before ever casting.

Worth noting, its quite good at shutting down Grave Seer, Life and Death - Orbweaver, Arach Weaver, King Avelorn variants.

Very easy to get a turn 1 empowered fill on TGK, then you can target Purple to silence L&D and take 10 mana away from Arach Weaver.

At the very worst, you can use Scurvy Seadog to turn Green to Blue to blank Grave Seer.

The Gray King is the best counter to L&D teams by far. Even better than Rope Dart as a counter.

Works nice with Xathanos, provided it casts quick enough. Great counter to Rope Dart’s yellow.
