Tower of Doom every 11 weeks

Mostly in a way that a flat tire promotes a healthy walk. It’s been a community request for years that the first player successfully exploring a room makes the scroll within that room visible for all other members in the guild. Just another pebble on the Mt. Everest of backlogged QoL features.

Yes that would help unless multiple players are doing the same floor concurrently. The smart move would be to arrange a scout schedule and post the floor plan as you do so. That requires teamwork and communication. Doom has demonstrated the reluctance of many, many players to engage and interact with their guild or anyone else. That’s why the doom totals are so massively different between communicative and non communicative guilds. Doom was a great idea to promote a more interactive and team orientated experience. Sadly a huge number of players just don’t want to know.

It believe the problem is rather that the game does not provide any built-in features for such a team orienated experience. The guild chat has a too short memory to communicate the tower layout, the game mode itself does not provide any means to share notes. Expecting players to use external tools and platforms to successfully play a guild event feels like a very broken design decision.

I totally agree. Cache size on guild chat is far too small and scout info can easily slip into the abyss as members discuss other stuff. Similarly xbox group msg is prone to frequent failures preventing players from being able to alert teammates about pets and so forth. Doom could have been great but without a revamp of chat accompanying it’s release, it’s yet another shining example of a development company that simply do not test the gaming experience they produce. Maybe they get revenue from discord because that is without doubt the most reliable chat media (apart from today when it crashed). It is understandable that players don’t want more apps etc on their devices to play things like doom effectively. The devs should have dealt with chat many updates ago but it’s not a moneyspinner so why would they bother?
