The official nerf Emperor korvash idea thread

I wrote gamechanging guides, for soul calibur for instance double over stun mechanics which was completely overlooked at first by the professional competitive scene. they only looked at frame data and then shaved off all activity untill only the most optimal attacks… which made the game pretty dull… i figured out the element of double over stun which is pretty much a hidden chain that creates a reset of the stuntimer. Now technically you can ‘‘shake’’ a stun… if you know its coming …but that would require you to shake your pad… in the competitive scene therefore these attacks are oppertunistic… not refined. This is exactly why it was completely overlooked… because it isnt considered viable in its initial form. I dont overlook such things, i take pleasure in digging into such things and figure out how far they go. So i took all these chars, went into training modes and figured out every single one of double over (stun timer reset) chains that noone ever bothered with because they thought a stun was just shakable… yeah …one of them. I could shave off 80% of someones healthbar with some of these chains because they werent, i tested them against AI that was set to shake every stun, i tested them against live pro players. Heck i trained with a licenced tournament player to understand one of the characters better (voldo). As for touching points with developement, i helped my clients with their game mechanics, with ideas, with better application. With thinktanking on what would make these games more interesting to players, more addicting, more succesful. As for your sneer about music… It might not be common knowledge but music is math. Its just another way to write down logic. And logic is my speciality with alot of experience.

Confrontation is required when you wish to start a fight, or to intimidate someone into submission. It is not a requirement for, and is indeed detrimental to, a legitimate discussion.

The development team has shown itself to be comprised of mature adults that listen to reasonable, rational feedback. There is no need to resort to intensifiers and baseless claims to get your point across, and the natural response you will get to such feedback from the rest of the community sours as a result.

The devs are not blind, just as you are nowhere near as far-seeing as you believe you are. There is a sort of egocentric bias at work, which shows up in many “I have the answer” threads, which causes someone who has “solved” a problem from their limited perspective to fail to consider that there are many more variables at play than they can see. The best kind of feedback is anecdotes about your personal motivation and what keep you playing, and what might drive you away. Solutions (and by this I mean broad, sweeping generalizations about how to fix the game all-up) are less useful. Certainly, cheap shots and name-calling are a waste of everyone’s time.

Finally, as a small point of feedback: try using the Enter key to break up your text-walls. It is very hard to parse your feedback due to eye fatigue.

This is actually the best and only logical thing I pulled out. There’s usually 2 ways a meta shifts. 1. The Devs 2. The players have found some exploit/cheat/bonus to using certain troops. It’s almost never simply because a troop looks cool for instance. Those troops have to give players an edge in some way. That’s no different in GoW. You see both, and currently I would actually say people are trying to create a new meta that deals with BD.

So while what you’re saying in that aspect makes sense, I just think your outlook on the game is tainted by your luck in troop gathering. I think underneath everything that’s really what you’re upset about. Of course i’m only guessing.

Though ill refrain from reading anything appart from the first line of text you typed from you… because ive known you longer on this forum and youre not exactly an…understanding entity. …Stop changing definitions. Confrontation is a perfectly sound approach… in no way is it aggressive. In fact its in a way even flattery… it means i am passionate enough about this game to spend time explaining where it has errors… and welcome Sirrians response. You on the other hand are just noise, interrupting… i cant remember having ever seen anything constructive from you in my threads …nothing but childish attacks without volume… either attempts on my person or denounces without argument. As ive said plenty of times i have spent a huge text explaining the problem of powercreep (that were now past) already. What have you done to solve existing balance problems? I dont even recall you have ever proven me wrong either, And contrary to you… so easily taunted by what isnt even there…i would actually admit it if i was proven wrong. Im proving you wrong right now. finally, as a small point of feedback: im typing this from a ps4. I do not have the luxiory to press Enter to break up any text-walls. Perhaps you’ve never read a book… those things are full of text walls. You could get used to em if you did.

Wow, @wskill, I would say that @Lyya is one of the most intelligent, thoughtful, constructive, creative, and eloquent players who has ever participated in one of our communities. Please keep the insults out of the discussion - it will make it a lot easier for us to take your feedback seriously.

This thread is over because it’s only going to degenerate from here, and I still have a lot of work to do tonight, and don’t want to have to monitor it for shenanigans.

And please refrain from the attacks… I really don’t want to issue a ban, because I want all sorts of feedback, and yours is valuable to us, just tone the aggression down a little please.
