Stellarix is stupidly overpowered. Change the 3x back to 2.1

I am just waiting for a few of the top 5 or 10 guilds to complain…then as usual the devs will be like “you know…You’re right”…then POOF…a nerf…
It’s happened a few times before…

But guys STOP begging for a nerf…Let the people who invested in the troop…Keep it as intended, if you don’t like it…skip PVP or skip the battle…Leave…the…troops…ALONE…
Stop crying over everything.

I miss the “cute” defenders. The all gnomes guy. The Leprechaun rampage. The fluffy baby animals team (Ursky, Manticore cub, ect). Things like that. It was a fun break from something more serious.

By the way, we have a thread where we can talk about changes to the PVP mode! This way ideas like having defense separate from offense can be discussed without derailing the discussion on Wand of Stars/Stellarix/Elementalist. Thread is here: Fixing PvP (the mode itself)

Stellarix shouldn’t be nerfed, all of these useless dragon dupes need to be nerfed. There should be a hard limit of 4 dupes before getting a guaranteed new drop. Most, if not all of successful games nowadays have some sort of guarantee to get what you want.

I’m undecided on Stellarix’s spell power. But I think Stellarix, as well as all cosmic dragons, should be classified as Boss. Because they really are.

There’s a surprising number of bosses that aren’t marked as “boss”. All the Delve bosses, for example. That said, I’m sure things like Ringmaster are not on the same level as Stellarix. So that might be a good idea, honestly. Dragon/boss? Or just Boss?

See I was thinking this yesterday as well! Instead of nerfing, simply changing the cosmic dragons to Dragon/Boss troop type they could be targeted with Godslayers to bring another counter on the table. The spell reduction is a problem though but it would be a start atleast.

Heres a little message to all you pro nerfers ( or people without stellarix ) maybe if you spent a little less time moaning and a little more time building counter teams ,which there are many, or actually spend more time away from pvp actually grinding to get the drogonite needed you wouldnt have a problem. Because the game had been crying out for some fresh OP troops for a long time.
And yes there hard to acquire and for good reason shes a bad bad ass. I think in all the game is fairly well balanced changing it back would be a dumb move and another thing if all you guys moaning about it think having it brings auto wins , it doesnt …shes still annoying to play against.

Just going to quote myself instead of typing this all over again. I’m not trying to be rude here, but when you see the same argument pop up again and again it’s hard not to sound repetitive.

As to counters: I find it funny that most of the Wand of Stars counter teams also contain Wand of Stars. Stellarix/Wand Counters

And yes, people are trying to grind for Dragonite. That’s why there’s threads where people are complaining about duplicate dragons and questioning what the drop rates of the dragons are. Here’s a few threads about that: Cosmic Dragons | These dragon dupes are getting annoying

Players who have been here 9+ years are annoyed by this over-use of Wand of Stars / Elementalist / Sterllarix and how unbalance it has made PvP. It’s not a bunch of level 30’s newbs complaining. There have been posts from players in this thread, but here’s a thread by one of them: State of the game after 9 years - #8 by Captain_Biggs

Even if that one broken combo isn’t fixed, there is significant outcry that PvP is unbalanced right now. Getting teams in the 20k range on all three “difficulties” has been an issue for many players. Either the mode itself needs a lot of retooling or the troops do. IMHO, it’s a bit of both, but at least things like letting people who want to play with a team of Endgames and Bosses only match with others who have the same would go a long way towards balance. Not everyone thinks endless loops of board explosions are fun, even if they have that option.

TL;DR: Go ahead, Stellarix and friends: Fight each other. Leave the others who don’t want to play that way alone.

Like how people were complaining that Dawnbringer (and to a lesser extent, Runic Blade) ruined old Arena runs – albeit for different reasons, but also to the point where the devs actually banned it from the mode (randomly replacing it with another Hero Weapon).

As a long time player, myself… I have a HUGE issue with “it’s a bit of both.” Why? Because, if I had to pick one thing that the development team does wrong, with astounding consistency, it’s changing too many things at once. Anyone who has ever been tasked with troubleshooting, knows that you change one thing at a time and then evaluate.

In MY humble opinion, nothing about the troops / weapons should be touched until the mode is retooled. Because changing the troops / weapons (some are even calling for class changes) does not just change pvp. It would impact explore, ToD, WEs, Journey, Raids, Invasion, delves, and Underspire.

Since I have never seen a single complaint about any weapon/troop/class being over powered in those non-pvp scenarios, it seems really obnoxious to want to break all of the other modes to fix one mode.

That said… pvp is currently all kinds of messed up. I think that improving the match making would be a step in the right direction, for sure. Rethinking the entire blood frenzy idea might be another good direction to go. Perhaps making BF its own static pvp area (like central spire) with restrictions that can be tuned to avoid problematic teams?

Yes in my opinion Stellarix ist totally overpowered! As well as Takshaka and the Wand. That’s why you only encounter teams with this units in PvP. Only when the power of these units is reduced will PVP function properly again.

The “right” and heavy fights in PVP can continue to be difficult, but the “left” and easier fights need to be significantly defused. At the moment, PvP is virtually unplayable for beginners and weaker players.

And how do you plan to replace the departures of many strong players if not with new players?

The game mode is broken and I’m sorry players expecting to win with a behind the 8 ball selection.

I’ve seen players complaining of losing, using 2 Taks, Wand and Stella.

How will you deal with snap freeze on all colours, only your Elementalist is immune at the start?

So all it takes is either their leprechaun to give an extra turn or your first move gives a skyfall extra turn, and they cast their wand before you. If they cast their wand before you can go, nearly all the time it’s a high chance of a loss. You could have a 4 match blue at the start and still lose as frozen on your Tak.

People put Wand first but why not put it second, so you can use deluge to lessen the chances of all being killed by Stellarix.

It’s nothing to do with the troops. You are gambling you fill your wand and cast it, and you retain the turn.

It’s luck you get an extra turn at the start and luck you aren’t frozen on all colours if you use Stellarix.

To negate luck - change your team to for example Daughter of Ice.Wand, Zuul and maybe say Inari.

You can’t be frozen on blue or red or green or brown at the start.

You won’t because it’s slow, but it’s less likely to give the ai the turn on the opening board.

If players on defence removed one Tak, there would be even more chance of losing if it was for say Daughter of Ice.

It’s basic but if you want nerfs go ahead. I don’t care anymore about game content, but I’m sure players wanting to complete high level content would benefit by not nerfing reasonable troops. I dunno, there’s about 30-50 decent troops and weapons in the game, why reduce them further.

Enemy troops in last battle of all kingdom and faction’s stories are just a legendary troop of that kingdom or faction. Not even mythic, let alone boss. All cosmic dragons should be classified as Dragon/Boss, just as their gem dragon cousins.

Absolutely this. First and foremost, it’s strictly a PvP induced problem, so strictly PvP-related solutions should be first and foremost attempted.

Thumbs up to those who thought removing player set defense teams was a bright idea! More thumbs up from those who thought removing casual PvP option was a stellar idea! (I’m being sarcastic, in case it slipped past you.)

As a tangent, red zone, I think, is, at least for me, is a super easy farming place…overpowered what?

For reference on the usual culprits everyone mentions as being everywhere and everyone using them non-stop…

Wand of Stars - last used on January 21 for journey event, haven’t felt any need to use it since;
Elementalist class - last used on January 6/7 for a few battles in Mydnight kingdom Underspire, before that - December GW, for attacking, no need to use it otherwise;
Stellarix/Takshaka - not a single time in PvP since latest update went live (I wouldn’t get caught dead with those on my defense team).

There is a self-cleansing elf I like, educated use of Valhawk droppings turns your entire team into Slayer on steroids and the rest is playing into that.

Perhaps, some other day, when I feel like it, I’ll tackle some other color restrictions, but until that - gimme Stellarix in red any day of the week.

And how do you expect to retain those new players without established players helping them get event rewards? I’ve been playing GoW a long time. When all of the difficulty scaling content becomes a painful, time sink, slog because troops weapons and classes are all balanced to pvp? I’ll be gone like yesterday. The entirety of GoW is not pvp. If it was, that would be sad, because pvp in this game isn’t even really pvp.

Outside of pvp how do Stellarix, wand and Takshaka hurt your enjoyment of the game? I don’t have Stellarix so the only experience I have with the troop is pretty much pvp. I don’t want it nerfed. It’s literally my favorite troop to see on the enemy side. It means I’m either going to win very quickly (90%) or lose very quickly (so I can get to the next battle.)

Why is it such a problem to lose 10 to maybe 15% of your battles anyway? You don’t lose points. Just go to the next one.

Yes, it’s annoying if you waste a victory talisman but that’s about it.

Imagine all the things you want nerfed for pvp being nerfed - then th4 complaints about every other mode in the game will start.

Fix pvp, don’t touch any troops or weapons.

How are you achieving 10-15% losses? My win-to-loss ratio is about 65 to 35. And 99% of the losses are losses where I take one move and then AI wins. I’d love to learn, maybe I’m still doing something wrong - how do you do that?

Could you please tell your current level and, in general, your progress in the game (kingdoms, factions, pets etc)? Thank you.

My win rate is a consistent 87%. I’m sure I could lower my win rate if I wanted to. heh. But every time I get to 88%, I lose one. It’s almost annoying. haha But anyway that means I am losing 13%. That’s the definition of the 10-15% that sylverscale mentioned.

As for how? That varies depending on the area restrictions. Boss troops, web, silence, empowered converters all helpful.

In my current ladder, of people who have done more than 20 battles, the highest loss rate is 40% and the lowest loss rate is 3%. The average is 13% (11% if I throw out the crazy 40% and 3%.)

I noticed a lot of my recent losses were due to back-to-back double casts of Stellarix. Stellarix can gain an extra turn in 2 ways:

  1. 4-match from the stars it generates
  2. from ability boosted by skulls (~40-50%).

The fact that it often fills itself (and allies) with mana and can instant cast again is frustrating if playing against it. I think I will quit the game before I get Stella, and thus never know what it feels like. I’m also at a 2:1 win/loss ratio, focusing on blood frenzy regions.
While the addition of stars was not itself OP, the way these high level troops and weapons generate them kinda is. Wand of Stars could cost 50 Celestial traitstones to make and still be worth it as it is. It’s not a game ending weapon, it ends the game.
