They aren’t random, and I guess the tasks are supposed to fit some story theme. Tasks like kill X mythics rely on everyone having to kill the same mythic so hopefully people put them up in def teams.
I just hope they thought the tasks out well.
They tie into that weekly kingdom/world event yeah.
So the tasks for the week, overall, will have a theme. If its a kingdom of mainly brown mana users or bonus brown mana from the Kingdom, then there is a good chance the task for Match X Brown Gems will appear.
Just point out that you can buy the Elite Pass the last week and get all the rewards. So better to finish the 10-weeks tasks then buy the Elite Pass.
Devs can add 7 other tasks in the task pool.
These ones are the gold ones and I don’t think we will need a reroll on this kind of tasks.
They can take awhile in explore for sure, especially in kingdoms with 2 Mythics, but devs have said they will add ways to make it easier, so thats good news for that 1.
But with 2 Gold tasks a week, its unlikely you will need to skip them.
I think you just made my point. Thanks though.
Your point is them putting tasks in everyone hates.
Im saying, everyone is gonna hate some tasks, but the tasks they enjoy doing will vary and cover all the tasks
Well, this all looks like basically checking how much community can handle.
We don’t get improvements in the game lately, just more and more controversial stuff added to the game with every update.
I understand everyone, who is saying “it can be better, it can be improved”. I would love to think this way as well, but then I look at previous updates.
We had ads added to the game. Watch 30 sec add for “equivalent of 30 sec in PVP”, and then getting 100 gold reward from it…
We had update, which “give us ways to progress faster” by using gems. Great idea, I really think it is! But then we get “2 mythic ingots for 200 gems” and such kind of offers mostly…
Both those updates were hugely criticized by community, people requested improvements. And what changed since then? Did any of those offers or rewards actually changed or the community was just completely ignored?
Then we got World event added. This event has potential, I think the idea is good! But it’s poorly implemented.
Balance in this event doesn’t exists, it is forcing you to play easy battles constantly, especially by jumping between enemy levels like crazy (once you face level 300 army, then level 70 - what’s the point of this?).
Event oriented medals are completely overpowered, taking away any challenge at all from this event.
Also scoring in the event is simply terrible. Devs know all the data (well, they can check the data anytime). Is it really so hard to do the math, before making event live? This looks more like counting, community will just give up at some point and accept you have to buy Tier VII as a guild to complete whole event.
And now we have this 5.0 thing, which brings completely nothing to the game. It’s just yet another thing added to waste your resources (gems, money, time).
But where are improvements to the game? In last half a year all they “improved” was adding sets to medals. It is overal positive change of course, but this doesn’t solve “different teams require different medals” problem. And to be honest, adding those sets is so minor (from devs perspective), it should have been done like few days after medals were released.
So it’s really hard for me to be happy, seeing what is going on here. I wouldn’t mind if they were releasing update, then making it better and better overtime, based on community feedback. But that’s not the case! They keep adding more and more broken elements to the game and completely ignoring any feedback from community. That’s the saddest thing. Especially I trully believe we have an awesome community here, which deserves at least some respect from the devs.
I thought there was going to be a new game mode in 5.0 not bring back old rehashed snot stone nonsense. I was glad to see that go the first time lol. Say what you want about Guild Wars, invasion, Raid, TOD and even the new event mode. All these at least have some creativity behind them. Just having tasks where we go around with our hair on fire doing nonsense and calling it campaign does not seem like fun to me. I am not against a pay wall especially if it’s every 11 weeks but I want it to be fun. This seems to be a chore from the looks of it.
While this is ok for the players I feel this fails at the goal of monetization. If someone realize they won’t be able to finish enough tasks to unlock the Mythic even if they buy a pass then they won’t buy it…
To put it simple if it was up to me the people buying the passes should get the Mythic even if they don’t play the tasks at all. Maybe the $10 pass could give them the Mythic after the first five weeks, and the other pass (I think it’s $25 right?) could give it instantly, also give the traitstones and souls to upgrade it, these resources have literally no value at the current state of the game. Some gold would also be welcome.
Someone: “rEeEeeEE, PaY tO WiN!!1one”
Frankly, the devs could give all new players the Four Horsemen Mythics and it wouldn’t be a huge help… I’m not saying they are bad, just that getting a Mythic out of reasonable purchase is not game breaking. Said Mythics still need support from many other troops/weapons (that could get a decent review and updates to become more viable) that it wouldn’t make a difference in the long run, of course they will get ahead of F2P players, but anyone making a purchase for the Death Knight armor is already ahead of others the longer they play.
If they want revenue, offer GOOD DEALS in the first place. Maybe that will help them getting decent artwork for now on…
The $10 pass gives out a lot of loot over the campaign.
The $25 pass… if you’re a newb just starting out then it’s probably the best thing you could buy with all the catch up loot.
Flash deals they offer are generally decent. It’s not for me, but $5 for 225 gems and orb of wisdom is a good deal. It buys you tier 3 of bounty and a wisdom orb used smartly saves a ton of traitstones.
What’s not a good deal is almost anything else in the shop
Not sure how much this can be talked about yet because this wasn’t discussed on stream, but I can say that Artifacts can have significantly more potential than just being a stat stick.
The version of Kurandara’s Portal that was shown on stream was the nerfed version of it, that was stripped down to just being a stat stick. Whether that is the version of it that appears when the first campaign arrives, or another version of the Portal shows up that grants some powers is anyone’s guess. The dataminers can confirm that Artifacts are coded to be more than just stat sticks.
On beta, we briefly tested one such power. It practically broke the game and caused the devs to withdraw them for rebalancing, resulting in the stat stick that was shown on stream. They may or may not show up in the first campaign. But at some point down the road, Artifact powers will start appearing in campaigns.
This.
I don’t think people will ever see how much the beta testing revealed about a buff, that on its face, seemed innocuous.
And that stat stick is all we’ll have to discuss. Unless you or any other beta tester tells us something we don’t know we can only go with what we saw so far. If the first artifacts only brings some stat buffs my interest will obviously drop. If they bring broken (in a power creep sense, not the bug sense) mechanics with traits and passives, then people will have conflicting opinions specially regarding how it can affect, even if not intended, some events like Guild Wars.
Also, if said traits/passives effects only last for the campaign it will be a bit underwhelming to consider some investiment of gems or money into such things. Medals at least can improve some troops a bit and you keep the bonus no matter what.
I always love the argument “it could of been worse” as a counter for when people want something to be better. Anything that “could of been worse” could of also “been better”.
I wish the stat boosts were more substantial but left out of GW so that they could be.
To spend $125 in a free to play game a year. (The subscription price to keep Elite + Pass for a whole year.) I should be able to break the game.
Here’s all I’m willing to say and probably should say. The Artifact, as originally presented, would have broken GW and likely every other mode in the game. Again, for a buff that on its face, seemed pretty minor.
I think the Devs appreciated the thoughtful feedback and analysis of this that was done during beta on this topic.
Further - is the artifact underwhelming? If the stream was accurate; yes. Is the EP worth it? That’s a decision on a campaign by campaign basis (first one, seems like yes). Is the EP+ worth it? Given that the bonus stars lost their ‘power’ due the above, seems unlikely.
I think it’s not Lyrian’s intention. But everytime a beta tester uses the: _“Oh, but you are considering only things that you know and that were previewed, not the things only us Beta testers and the developers know.”-card I can’t help but feel cheated.
WELL OF COURSE WE DON’T KNOW “THIS OR THAT” AND THEREFORE WE CAN’T DISCUSS THINGS WE COULDN’T POSSIBLY GUESS UNLESS WE START POINTLESS SPECULATIONS…
…
Ok, so my speculation is: The Artifact would remove the 50% chance of hitting a random target from all Gnolls. They will always hit the right target. Am I close?
Gnolls will always get the short end of the stick! As it should be!
Design elements get scrapped all the time. Until it goes into the live version of the game, it doesn’t matter what was on the beta or what wasn’t.
I feel personally attacked…
