Im surprised there isnt a flash offer to close your account here and get resources when you start a new Puzzle Quest 3 account.
From what I read above, even that was overkill before. The calculations for the original requirements in this thread said we only needed tier IV or V depending on Valraven luck. The score requirements didnât drop that much.
If the average purchase remains at T4, Iâm going to glance at the blue statue nerf (where Gems were dropped from 590 to 290 then brought back up to 390) and say theyâre pulling the same crap.
Bloat events from T0-2 to T5-6, then drop it back to T4. Then they can claim credit for listening to the communityâs concerns while still completely bloating requirements in order to justify their boo$ter$.
Maybe this one being a T4 average is the equivalent of Council of Chiefs and itâll return to normal (the true normal, not their misguided sense of normal) after this week?
Am I understanding correctly that T1-T2 will typically get a guild through Reward 12? If so, Iâm not terribly upset about the higher requirement to fully complete the event. Same rewards with bonus rewards for guilds that go further.
Not for an Invasion Event.
For Invasion, it has always been T4. Some players could buy T3 due to others getting T4 and the excess Towers would cover for the difference:
Invasion pre 7.0, 150 Towers per player.
Tier 3: 140 - 148 Towers.
Tier 4: 184 - 192 Towers.
The events where sometimes Stage 12 rewards can be collected with T0 - T1 are World Events.
New reward threshold: 10k towers for reward 12 (was 14500). 333.33 per member. Expected battles per member 62. Required minimum buy in with full participation and full member perfect with event captain = t0/t1 for reward 12 (you are right on the precipice of needing an extra valraven or 2 sigils to finish your battle requirement at t0 under the last calculated starting sigil multiplier of 2.22 arrived at after lots of data gathering). Edit: Since you need at last t2 to have the captain, that makes the minimum buy in T2 for reward 12 regardless of sigil use. Previous weeklong (we should not be comparing to weekend events which had different buy-in costs and were balanced differently) Invasion events required an average of ~64 battles (175 tower per member, no captain), which is also within the max sigils you can get from t0 (but less likely) and well within t1.
Total points required for stage 16 rewards, 17500 (was 20,000). 583.33 per member. Expected battles per member 93. Required minimum buy in with full participation and full member perfect runs with captain = t4/t5 (you are right on the precipice of the +/- for valravens, even with a perfect run, at t4 so only a small percentage would need t5s assuming completely perfect runs).
Math checks out reward 12 being in line with what it was for previous versions of the same event in terms of required buy in, if everyone is using the event captain all the time (actually about 4.76% easier), except you have to have at least t2 to have the captain for any event that has a captain. Thresholds are significantly higher if the event captain is not used by even a handful of the members, but this event is not one where you would generally not want to use the Captain. (edit: this means that the minimum buy in for Tower of Doom will likely be t4 to get reward 12, regardless of sigil use, even if you could perfectly scout to get reward 12)
Keep in mind, the amount having an obligate slot and restricted weapon/obligate weapon slows you down is not yet readily apparent this week, but will be when we get into Raid and Tower of Doom. This week was a total softball having no additional weapon restrictions, the strongest overall troop type in the game that has actual self synergies within its own troop type and not just âfakeâ on paper synergies like giving +3 damage here and there, and arguably one of the strongest prior siegebreakers combined with a new siegebreaker that is arguably even stronger (albeit in different situations). On what has been for a while one of the most consistently âpainlessâ events overall for a while now, given the usual breadth of options compared to what you need (which is usually just a siegebreaker to one-shot the towers and a hero and 2 troops to make that process as quick as possible). Lets see how everyone feels after slogging through the new and âimprovedâ Tower of Doom and Raid events.
Except you donât have the event captain without a t2 purchase.
Actually, true. Minimum required is t2 because of this. Most people were buying in to t3 on this event regardless because it was weapon tier.
Edit: Just thought about this even more. What is going to happen when you use a scroll of Heroism in the Tower of Doom event? What happens if you get a Luck scroll in a room you cleared with a Fireball scroll? Do luck scrolls even count for double scoring? Did they consider it in their algorithm if they didnât? (since about a third of your overall score was coming from Luck scrolls if your guild scouted well)
Tower of Doomâs Captain is a weapon typically needing a t4 buy-in to get (500 gems). Developed guilds usually everyone will get weapon tier (just as in previous weeklong raid and invasion anyone with a developed account would make sure they had enough gems for t3, weapon tier, regardless if they were actually going to play the event), but guilds with new players might not be able to get this immediately, thus already slashing their max contribution to the guild in half. That is on top of having fewer viable teams to even make it through the higher rounds for less developed accounts.
I have the sinking feeling that it is going to be rather difficult to muster up any kind of enthusiasm to participate in what was once my favorite event.
They keep changing the requirements. Who knows what it will be on Sunday.
the post Ive been waiting for, thanks!
Iâm fully committed to complain about issues with ToD scoring if necessary.
Usually, I expect Murphyâs law to apply to gems.
Personally, I think they should include gnomes in this invasion. People are already spent/stretched, it would be a good âyeah, weâre sorry for making some people burn outâ
Whoa! I just checked the Xbox leader is nearly 3x that of pc/mobile
@Kafka please get ip2 to pull back the carrot, if thatâs really just one person playing, theyâre spending stupid amounts, and I donât want to see another âgamer plays for 3 days straight and diesâ story
Luckily itâs only 1 guild event every two weeks to account for this increased cost right? Right? Not going to have gems for levelling anything anymore to keep on good terms with guilds. Unless you log in 24 times per day, maybe. Instead of once or twice.
Got all 16 done. I think i went like 1 more buy than usual but didnt mind since slughoarder so good. Everyone should anyway. Just feel like we over complaining on here sometimes. Lets not cry wolf. Not that this was but in general for other games forums are for strats n guides etc this only game ive ever seen its 90% complaining 10% guild recruiting
It got adjusted.
Thereâs little recruiting here, I suppose, because people use reddit for that. It is where I found my first guild and where we find most of our new players.
Guides and stuff are mostly on discord and, well, on YouTube.
The forum is mainly used for contacting devs (and why itâs mostly complaining, well⌠Too many bugs and design failures)
People use the gems of war subreddit? What changed?
Only for recruiting as far as I know.
