We do not discuss the details of individual bans or any penalties to their guild. We do take this seriously and try to treat all guilds as equally as we can, but each case is different and we may need to time to decide on the best course of action.
We are happy to discuss any concerns in PMs if a player has one, but we do not want to this turning into a witch hunt.

Hopefully you checked and applied penalties to all his guilds he was in before our, as he was just a fresh recruitment.

I think this post was very neutral and emphasizing in devs consistency regarding their policy about botting. So I don’t see that he has any particular problem with any guild, nothing personal.

The guild involved in this instance of botting/cheating is completely irrelevant. Being, even periphially, involved in a guild suffering a botter ban was highly unpleasant. As a guild, we took the trophy losses and fines on the chin and moved on. From our point of view seeing an inconsistency in the way these incidents are handled leaves a sour taste.
We keep a close watch on our members now as we don’t want to be associated with cheaters again. There are never any guarantees that we won’t be fooled again, but we do out best to monitor unusual behaviour.
I hope you can understand that Skits questioning has absolutely nothing to do with the guild involved, only with the inconsistencies. We respect all other guilds who do the right thing and enjoy the competition

We had the same thing happened in our guild and now know what to look for. Fair competition is what it is all about. There is no satisfaction in winning anything though cheating.

While this zombie thread is shambling around, what form does botting take in this game? Have people written their own AIs to match gems and win games faster than humans can process?

I think the devs would rather this wasn’t discussed openly, else it encourages or gives ideas to the losers and cheats that do this.
