My guild was definitely not a top notch guild, but guild wars was “mandatory”. And I would wonder… WHY. We were certainly not anywhere close to being high on the leaderboards .
Anyway, I’m happy now - - - even if a guild had NO requirements, I still would be happier on my own.
Again, technically you could set up a “Guild of one” with “join by invite only” enabled in the Guild configuration and just never send out any invites. That preserves access to weekly World Events and Guild Tasks, even if you don’t use them.
But hey, not criticizing – you go play your game your way. The only “wrong” way to play is if you aren’t having fun with something.
(As for my little Guild, I set some low requirements that basically amount to “are you just playing the game?” but I don’t bother trying to enforce them – I have kicked a few players here and there for being inactive past 30 days, i.e. they are likely never coming back anyway, but even that is something I only look at sparingly.)
