What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened?
I expect to be making more than 165 gold per game.
What are the steps to make it happen again?
I play any game, and no matter what I do, I can’t earn more than 165 gold at the end of the game. Is there a hardcoded limit to the amount of gold that can be earned in a game?

Yes, there is a hard-coded limit to how much gold you can get per game. This is to prevent endless farming of one match. You can increase the limit with modifiers (seen on the world map), which can come from:
- Armors
- VIP points
- Difficulty
- Special Events

The max gold you can earn within a match is 105 gold. This 105 is boosted by the things Lyya mentioned - armor bonus, VIP bonus, and difficulty bonus. The amount the 105 is raised by is shown on the main menu with the multiplayer next to the gold. Similarly, the multiplayer next to the souls increases the 40 soul cap per game.
All other resources currently have no cap within a match such as keys and maps.

Correction, the cap is 110 Gold. Also maps cap at 10 on PC/Mobile, and 5 on consoles.
