Give me a reason why we waste 1500+ gems for this stupid Underspire

image

I have the stupidest map.

Spent zero gems, lanterned the 2nd boss, made it 1 room into the 4th area.

Will not be spending any Gems on this mode. As others have posted, it has the potential to be a fun side activity, but the obvious Gem sink/cash grab ruins it.

TheIdleOne was correct.

So that means I have a 70+ room tumor tacked onto my dungeon that literally serves no purpose except to act as an action sink.

I spent over 1500 gems, bought max amount of torches each day, spent $20 on lanterns, still only half way through. This game mode is an insult and I should be offered a refund. I won’t give this game another cent until underspire is either removed completely or entirely overhauled. I am so bitter that I spent this many resources and not even close to finishing, the only reason I even made a forum account. This is not ok and to be honest I’m pretty close to just abandoning gems of war entirely. I spend money on this game every month because I love the game, but this game mode is a deal breaker for me. Fix it or I promise in the future I will spend my money on another game that doesn’t abuse me as a paying customer.

while I totally believe you it would be reasonable to post a screenshot.
you still have 10+ minutes just to collect the evidence.

As my endgamer gem stash allows me some splurging, I will buy torch packs for a while (no lanterns, though, under any circumstances) to map out more maps (no pun intended) out of curiosity and personal scientific interest after which I will resort to free torches only…

However, one thing that annoys me a bit is that ordinary battles give no additional rewards whatsoever (well, 2 glory does not count!).
For example, last week boss dragon always turned out to be in the last path I explored (some bad luck) and it feels like a letdown to be left without any consolation prize for visiting so many useless empty rooms.

Of course, it’s not even necessary that every room should give additional stuff, but it’s quite reasonable that, while exploring ancient dungeons, one could stumble upon something shiny and nice once in a while.

Yeah, it’s like there’s some sort of internal algorithm I use to try to find the right path that their path generation is designed to counter. What sort of sorcery is this! I guess I have to train myself to take the non-instinctual path for the underspire, as regular logic has been turned topsy-turvy.

In other dungeon crawlers i seem to have a knack for finding the treasure before i make it to the boss that ends the dungeon. Its good to know that that does not translate to this game at all.
