Evolved Gorgatha

The way I actually beat him I didn’t suggest as I thought you were a new player and might not have access to the legendary troop I used.
Use Jarl and any 3 other troops with fire link (I used 3 goblin rocket as they’re best with keeping a combo drop or refilling mana when you keep the turn but don’t refill Jarl. Use the Red/Red banner and Jarl will completely fill with either 2 non serge red matches or a single red 5 of a kind.

The goal to to cast Jarl and with a little luck he’ll fill himself up over and over again and in just 3-5 casts Gorgotha will take a much deserved dirt nap

@Lyya can direct you to a page with all the troops with fire link available (I would use 3 of the same troop as it will cost fewer traitstones then to trait up 3 different troops) make sure that Jarl is in the lead spot cause I think every fire link troop uses red mana (and goblin rocked uses the yellow mana created by Jarl and Fire link is his 1st trait so it shouldn’t require much investment)

Hope this works for you (sorry @Lyya for summoning you )

I remember trying to do Evolved Gorgotha early on because War & Peace comes from it. I didn’t have access to many legendaries or special weapons but read about the team Mufasha was hinting at above which is tank plus 3 Rock Worms. I’m guessing I probably just used my hero as the tank. If you can get a brown loop going you win!

Rockworm works well. Just get a team of rock worm and if you can get lucky once you might be able to chain until gorgotha is dead then enjoy the rest of the match.

I used Valkyrie/Alchemist/Druid/Banshee back when you could change skulls with the first two. Barely won.

I used the traditional 3 Rock Worms and Deep Borer. Once the Rock Worms got on got going - it was just:
Lather; Rinse; Repeat :cold_sweat:

Before I knew it Gorgotha was crushed and I only had to take out the remaining troops.

Yep it is the easiest and cheesiest way to kill him.

There’s your problem right there. I’m not much of a fan for silence. IMO, if you’re taking the time to use silence, it means you’re giving up a turn to deal damage.

My suggestion for Evolved Gorgotha is to build the best single target damage team you can and just unload into him as soon as possible.

The setup that immediately comes to mind would be to use any combination of Alastair + Paladin. Throw in a Herdmaster in there and you’ll have a nice spread of color management. Just pump up the Paladin and you’ll be able one or two-shot Gorgotha, easy.

UPDATE: GUYS I BEAT HIM!!! Rather oddly too since I accidentally clicked on the battle button and totally forgot to tweak my team :joy:. Basically once I used poison on him his health drained away heres a pic of the troops and weapon I used:

And thanks to everyone for you advice and feedback!!!

Figures it would be poison that did him in… I was going to suggest 4x Scale guard to tear him a new one too lol

@Cell I didn’t think of even using him :joy:

Congrats on beating Gorgothy! He’s not so big now, huh?

I know Gorgotha’s health is currently 50+ in 1.09 but truth to tell, for some reason I thought that (in a previous version of Gems) that his health was 200 when you were level 80 or above.

Still amazed that people were able to use ROCKWORM teams to complete the quest. I would have thought that the Rockworms on the A.I.'s side would have powered up in no time flat under so much brown mana.

But using a simple mana drain troop like Ferit or the Silent Night weapon or Spider Queen etc makes the whole battle much less scary. And if you can combine draining with burning, the rapid health loss should do him in quite handily.

@Theicla I came to realize that using a troop such as Scale Guard is best with higher shielded enemies due to the whole poison factor because with each turn the poison will eat at his health and assuming i have the time to get more red mana for Scale Guard i can do twice the damage since their already poisoned. And thanks for the reply!
