How about a toggle option to not sacrifice (or devour in the Black Beasts case) a specific troop in your defense team.
For example:
If you have a troop that sacrifices or devours troops, and you also have a troop that summons, you don’t want your summoner sacrificed, you want them in your team to feed your sacrificer/devourer
