Daily Task Data

Tasks were fun and fair to a point. Any player, regardless of level, could complete a certain number of tasks. Now I would imagine it is still the higher level players racing through the tasks each day while everyone else has given up completely.

I feel a more appropriate way to scale would have been to increase (double?) the requirement each time a task is completed and subsequently repeated. Eventually people abusing the rewards will get to a point it is no longer worthwhile relative to other methods of playing. The requirement being reset each day.

It was not the players cycling tasks that would stop playing - it was other (lower) level players.

I appreciate the detailed analysis provided as to why the change for tasks was made.

Iā€™m curious though - Is there any data to suggest that this is the cause of players leaving rather than merely correlated with it?

Wouldnā€™t lower level players who test out the game and decide they donā€™t like the game be in this category?

Since the update I have noticed;

Gold accumulation is roughly equal
Souls accumulation is roughly equal
Glory accumulation has increased. This is due to doing Maps more instead of being ā€œpromptedā€ by a Task.
Gem accumulation has increased. This is due to more Maps and more Gems from the Tasks.
Traitstone accumulation has increased substantially. Maps are a huge opportunity to gain lots.

So overall I say the game has improved a lot in respect to resources. Anyone receiving less resources is simply avoiding Maps because they (wrongly) assume they arenā€™t ā€œworth the timeā€. They are, and not doing them is the PLAYERā€™S fault, not the development teamā€™s.

No offense but not everyone is good at the maps nor do they have the time to necessarily farm the number of maps you go through. Thatā€™s hardly the playerā€™s fault nor is it their fault if they donā€™t find treasure hunt to be that much fun.

Not all of us can be the best gems of war console player.

I agree with you that maps will now become the way to go for resources for current active players, but I donā€™t see that as a good thing, since itā€™s now limiting the ways players can meaningfully experience the game while efficiently getting useful resources (particularly glory, outside of PvP fights/weekly laddering). It will be interesting to see how the developers respond when these new trends manifestā€“whether they reconsider/adjust the tasks again or whether they go in the other direction and nerf the map rewards, either in the frequency of map drops or the actual resources earned.

Iā€™ve done 15-20 Maps a day since the update, you donā€™t need to be good at them or even do many, just do them.

Just so everyone knows, the cap on how many Maps we can get in one run went from 5 to 10.

Use this team my wife made;

Templar
Valkyrie
Tyri
Finley

It cycles almost non-stop, stays alive forever and you can get your 10 Maps in 10-15 minutes maximum.

I honestly cannot make it any easier for you all.

For farming maps, i use

Knight coronet (any stoneskin will do)
Dryad (heals, barrier, create green)
Tyri
Templar (armor, transform red to green)
blue/yellow banner

I use the first challenge in forest of thorns because ennemie team as a dryad and a green seers, so there is many green to use tyri.

Hope it helps

Finley
Tyri
Giant Spider
Goblin Shaman

Kingdom on the Islandā€¦eeeā€¦ Darkstone, first challenge: Wall with 0 attack on the first place, next is Hag, t Dark Master and one minor enemy. i played twice for 15 minutes and got 30 maps from two games without problem

Cheers for the team, Iā€™ll try it out later.

The issue people really have is treasure maps arenā€™t particularly interesting. I couldnā€™t bring myself to do them when there was a daily task reward of 100 glory for 4 maps. Be great if I had someone to play through all maps when Iā€™m not at home
