What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened?
Got the daily reward twice for the same day.
What are the steps to make it happen again?
No special steps here. Had the game up in the background. Tabbed back in for tribute collects. Checked mails about 3 hours after daily reset and had double of the daily rewards. I do this pretty much every day. The only difference could be that one of the tab-ins could have been at the exact moment of the server reset.
