I’m prepared to toss one more potential solution upon the trash heap of history. Allow tasks to refresh, but make the number of refreshes inversely proportional to the number of members in your guild. Thus those gaining the most resources from guilds, gain the least resources from individual tasks. This would also allow those not interested in the guild system, or those in small friends & family guilds to be more competitive with people belonging to large guilds.
Removing the tasks sounds good to me as they are trash; they are bland and stagnate. Another option is to half/third the requirements/rewards and make each slot completable 3 times a day.
I really dont get why a few of the posters here are flipping out, ive been nothing but constructive.
Anyway i dont think tasks without a reward makes sense, i already opted for a much smaller reward for refreshing tasks, like 1000gold, 5 valor etc. Easy does it.
Im all for a system of 2-3 constantly refreshing on completion tasks with such rewards and then 2 tasks that are of higher strain and reward that do not reset, one daily and one weekly for what i care. I think i even promoted such a system before in this thread before the update already but im sure its allright if i remind everyone of that possibility existing.
I sincerely hope the dev that is now in charge reads this and has the heart to consider.

Two months later, and I see this issue is just as contentious as ever. I’ve not played since the tasks were first reworked, and last week I finally cashed out my keys to get the final mythic trophy I was missing (PS4) before uninstalling the game entirely.
Obviously people are in different camps when looking at the situation, with some shifting their opinions a bit in the interim (looking at you, Talia–I think your earlier quoted comment indirectly called me a fool a few months back) but reading this entire thread, I do tend to agree with wskill’s arguments about the ‘fun’ factor associated with completing the shorter, repeatable rewards. Given that Pipeworks relinquished control of the console versions shortly after the task rework, I guess we’ll never really know the effect of those changes on the player base and associated play session time. I suspect there was some attrition and reduced task completion rates. Going forward with the proposed parity across all platforms, it will be interesting to see how things are managed–I imagine there could be sore feelings from either camp, depending which way the development team goes, which won’t make their decision any easier.
For those that are still heavily invested in the game, I hope it works out well for you. For my part, the task changes were actually a blessing in disguise, since it was enough for me to move on entirely and play/experience new games. For those that stick with the game, perhaps the continual influx of new players will offset the attrition of players like myself, and allow the community to be as active/vibrant as ever, if not more so.
Im stuck with shit tasks again, twice in a row…
these obnoxioous win 15 matches with a troop color you never use and has 0 synergy possible type of tasks combined with an even worse “spend 50k gold on your guild” task…that ill never get rid of…
It takes me friggin one and a half week to get that much gold for godsake… that is when i pvp for more than necessary (rank1) wich i dont. and i still need to build my kingdom lvls…
Please god give us back the tops 3 match revolving tasks… ugh

Just go to the forest of thorns and repeat the first challenge on normal if you have crappy tasks with weak troops. (I always get drifting sands tasks and I only have one troop from there trained to lvl 9, all the others are 1.
I always get crap tasks wheras my Mrs doesn’t. She also has far more success with treasure map traitstone rewards and troops from chests. She’s so lucky. I’m not. Not a fan of the re worked tasks either.
I don’t see any reason to complain about the tasks… They are a bonus and completely optional.
I usually complete tasks while doing something I would have done anyway… The only exception is the odd troop battles. This one is a great opportunity to try troops you don’t use while earning traitstones in explore or challenges.
I get ONLY shit tasks with “beat 15 games with 3 troops from the deepest excrement filled pit in the world” and all their rewards are ALWAYS gems, gems gems gems… ive made over 200 gems since this update from tasks alone while i need something called soul upgrade costs instead but those tasks never drop for me anymore and i dont get a new task ever because i still need to complete the “use machine cards” which i NEVER USE so they are all still lvl1.

I sounds like you not aware of “Explore Mode” that was just released on console with the latest update. Its just to the left of Quests from any Kingdom you’ve finished, put it on normal and your lvl 1 “machine cards” will workout just fine.
Not the point, its simply excruciating to have 3 tasks every time like that, god i wish they just reverted the task system already… these drawn out tasks that never get replaced killed the fun completely and that the arena is now garbage aswell makes it all the worse… what do i have left to do… explore mode is the only thing atm… pvp i only play to get to the highest rank and then some to stay in it while 328947238971989875127 people beat my defense team cause i lack kingdom levels and everyone has that maxed. grr…
