Chat not working

Discord. It says it is for gamers; what makes it any different from any of the other messaging apps?

Yes, it’s a separate app. But with notifications, it’s pretty easy to know when to app switch back/forth. And it’s cross platform; iOS, Android, PC, OS X, and web implementations all work seamlessly.

It’s exactly like Slack, with built in voice as well, and a less business like tone.

Never heard of slack either. Is it not just the same as whatsapp?

I heard you’re slack! Wizards sleeve, ha ha ha.

Clowns pocket?

Hippos yawn?!

Not me. Ive never been touched

OH, i was not saying people r quitting JUST because of chat being down, i am saying that for all the other reasons i mentioned, and the “bosses” not using this extra $ to do what needs to be done for the game etc. adding new content is super awesome, and it seems like that is pretty much all that the wonderful DEVs can do for now, since the underlying problem of the game engine and server hosts, maybe never be fixed, and if not, then well… u know.
don’t fix the underlying issue, well… it poisons everything. and many of us r giving the support we can to this game in hopes that the RIGHT thing will be done. i feel bad for the DEVs being stuck in the middle, they r like surgeons who r giving a bunch of fancy bandages, but not allowed to do some real cutting etc…

What extra “$?” Do you have some insight into how lucrative the game is that the rest of us don’t? My suspicion is that the game, being free-to-play, has a limited revenue stream, and the devs aren’t exactly swimming in a river of money here. Why are you assuming they can just throw money at the server problem and be done with it? If that causes them to go red, is that healthy for the game?

IF this were the case, then this would have ALREADY been mentioned for the reason right away! and would be valid, right? but many players have given money, like myself, AND many give more money on an ongoing basis. if u follow the dialogue between players and DEVs for these many many months, then u would already know this on what they say why etc… AND do u think this is their ONLY game they get revenue from too? do some research first maybe?

The in game chat must be on fire. Wish I could be in there jibber jabbering too

They have teams in different places that have to be paid, Server farms in different locations. It’s a lot of money. I’m not so convinced that they are doing soooo good that they can just pay for everything instantly. I suspect that they’re actually paying for servers only a few at a time instead of all at once. This is an on-going game and everything costs money. You see players around you paying for things and you think, “oh everyone must be doing it.” Wrong. Most people that you see haven’t paid a single cent on this game, and are probably never going to. Hopefully they do, and I think if they set-up the marketplace a little better that might change. What you are trying to do though, is bully the devs. They can’t work any faster than they are, so by threatening that a lot of people are going to leave isn’t going to work. You can’t blackmail this game into working when you want it to. People might be leaving, but that’s going to happen no matter what.

I don’t know of any small (not publicly-shared) game company that discloses its P&L. What research is there to do?

The dev team responds to feedback well. However:

  1. They’re a small team, and are not omnipotent (nor everpresent).
  2. They are under no obligation to disclose the minutiae of bugfix investigations. What company has ever done this for anything except severe outages?
  3. They are under no obligation to disclose revenue details, when it’s frankly none of our business. It’s my impression that they’re investing wisely in the game and not responding to all feedback with costly investments.

Does the post that she was responding to count? 'Cause it sounded like a joke to me.

I used up my joke quota for the day. From here on out it’s just dry observations, ten-dollar words, and backhanded compliments.

By the way, you smell a lot better today than you did yesterday.
