Every Kingdom for the most part is all over the place in terms of troops and synergy, which is why the level 100 class talents are so atrocious. Look at Dragonguard – you either take Fireblade and put your hero in first slot, or you take Armor Plating/Urska Major for your non-existent Mechs and Urska troops (after all, you’re playing Dragonguard presumably because you have a team of dragons…)
But the Archer class is somehow even worse. Level 100 talents: Harvest Moon (Wargare), Stryx Commander (Stryx), and Thieves’ Guild (Rogues). I went through the trouble of coming up with a list of all the wargare, stryx, and rogue troops in Forest of Thorns:
As you can tell, it’s pretty empty. What troops are in Forest of Thorns though?
Type | # | % |
---|---|---|
Elemental | 15 | 54% |
Fey | 10 | 36% |
Beast | 8 | 29% |
Elf | 8 | 29% |
Knight | 1 | 4% |
Monster | 1 | 4% |
Divine | 1 | 4% |
Dragon | 1 | 4% |
Construct | 1 | 4% |
Giant | 1 | 4% |
Mystic | 1 | 4% |
Troops that are combinations are counted twice, which is why adding this up gets 48, when there are only 28 troops. The percentage however is out of 28, not 48. That means 54% of the troops are Elemental.
The game has no “Elemental” class but it seems perfectly clear to me that Forest of Thorns is a fine contender for one.
