Harlan Ellison passed away in his sleep Wednesday night at the age of 84. He was one of my favorite authors, one of the first to introduce me to science fiction, or speculative writing, as he would have preferred.
I expect some will come into this thread just to say what a jerk Harlan was personally. Yes, he could be abrasive, vindictive and unforgiving. That doesn’t matter, though, because the man could write.
I’ll miss you, Harlan. The world is poorer for your passing.
