What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
I expect the game to start. Instead, I repeatedly get the ERROR 16 error message.
How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
Every time I start the game or try retry. It started after the 4.8 update.
Steps to make it happen again
Start the game, or hit retry on Error 16 after game has started.
I have restarted my PC, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and had Steam verify the installation. None of this helped.

Are you also playing on mobile? If so you’ll need to update to 4.8 on all devices.

On the Chromebook I have 5 different accounts with gems of war on them. All accounts had to be updated seperately despite it being one device to get the Error 16 to go away.
OK. I had to uninstall my Nook GoW, reinstall it, relink my account. PC GoW still did not work. Restarted PC, and only then did my PC GoW work.
I haven’t actually played GoW on my Nook in months; it never occurred to me that my PC would have anything to do with my Nook.
