Oh question. If a yellow troop is frozen and you match 4 gems with voice, do you get an extra turn?
Good question, i hope the answer is yes, personally i would like to change that third trait for something like every troop gain +2 health on x4 yellow match it would be more interesting troop but probably OP also
@Nephilim, but I really don’t think it is? There are a lot of troops that have no turquoise in their design. (For example, every troop from Broken Spire.)
It’s a very unusual colour, and I do like it. Personally I think it’s got a bit overused.
I rather like Voice of Orpheus’s 3rd trait. Cleanse on Demand is sweet.
The only thing I’d like to see is an anti-Famine effect added to the skill. I would love a one turn protection to mana drain, or even a barrier version of protection to mana drain would be super sweet. … or just update barrier to protect against mana drain. shrug
If they’re going to be near opposites, Famine shouldn’t always have the upper hand. (If VoO casts, Famine destroys it afterwards). Let whoever casts first mess the other up.
There was a plan for Mana Shield to also block mana drain, no idea if or when we might get that.
Thee was also a debate whether Impervious should also block mana drain (as it currently blocks mana burn so includes the Mana Shield effect). I think we all agreed that went too far, and Impervious was already too good.
Maybe it’s just the display on my device, but the background of your avatar sure looks turquoise to me.
Yup, very observant! Lol.
Hey all, 374 GoW changes just came down to our spoilers page. Maybe worth checking out the history page. http://www.taransworld.com
Based on new info that Taransworld gathered, we got more clue about possible Raid mode. This is so exciting!!
Looks like the supposed Raid boss “Zuul’Goth”, have evolved to 6 difference forms now, base on each 6 gem color elements. That’s make sense based on its original spell “Blue Annihilation”, which is now expanded to all colors, one each form.
We also get 6 new “Invasion” Mythic troops. They’re all tower based with 2 colors, based on element. Wonder if they’re also part of Raid mode…
I hope it’s a guild event similiar to guild wars and dungeon combined, PVE instead of PVP. One raid boss (and some of its extra troops in the other slots) for each day. Rewards for attending and slowly getting the Life down and then a reward sent to everyone in the guild if the raid boss dies - so a boss with a lot of armor and life shared between players. And the possibility to spend attempts somehow even if the boss is already dead so that people from all timezones can participate, no matter when they are online.
Of course it could be server-wide, but I think that would be worse than guild-limited because consoles have far less players than PC/mobile. If the raid enemies will have the same amount of Armor/Life across all servers, then either PC/mobile will have people unable to participate because it goes down too fast if it’s adjusted to console player amount or, if adjusted to PC/mobile player amount, consoles won’t be able to kill. Making the event restricted to guilds, where the amount of max players is fixed and since most players are in full guilds anyway to get more task rewards, seems much more logical.
That sounds good but there will be the usual complaints that this will only benefit the top/big guilds where most of the members will be motivated (perhaps obligated) to participate.
Would be interesting to see if something is done to negate this, ie only 25 or 27 participants required any given week.
That would be nice, but having played basically every MMO under the sun which had guild bosses, this has rarely, if ever, been the case.
Fact is: As long as ranking, leveling and whatnot exists in a game, some will always be better than others. New players won’t be able to fight a raid boss as well as older players since not even clever strategy will help you against something immune to all status effects that’s mythic. And GW is also a contest with an ungodly unfair amount of gems for the top guild compared to the guilds just a few places below. This game has never been fair for guilds in the first place.
Just read now, this raid event look so interesting and make me really curious. Anyway, so far, what the news about the 3.3? Release date, new event, new tool, unit balance change… Anyone have some information?
Yup also curious about the raid event,
I am also affraid cause i played couple games with this kind of event and most of them you need to pay lot of money to finish the complete event in time
We will get some information on Friday in the Q&A for sure, but right now I can tell you that there was some information on stream before that 3.3 would come “in the next month or so”, though it was not clear if that means “four weeks or so” or “in Febuary”. Until Friday, take the latter as a rough date, I suppose?
Raid will not happen in 3.3, though, not with so little information and no images for the troops yet. That is pretty certain if the release date stays.
I think I remember Salty saying there will be something for Valentine’s Day, but I might confuse that with something else, sorry. Even if I remember right, no one knows what it will be, if it will be tied to 3.3., if it will be just a little gift via mail or something like the Moa event or a whole new (3.3.) thing.
tl;dr: There’s some unreliable information, but Friday will hopefully clear a lot of things up.
Imps of Love everywhere? Heart shaped gems?
I used to put Imp of Love in my PVP defence teams just because his sound effects are so funny. Seeing and hearing more of him for a week would be excellent. Maybe I’ll reassemble my “Now hear this” team and put it out in non-PVP event weeks…
Hellspawn and Tome of Evil expected for next Monday (Jan 22nd)
Let’s discuss the upcoming Mythic, shall we?
-
Mana generator
Max 15 mana, can’t generate more, can’t loop itself like exploders. -
Sniper
Deals 24 damage + however much mana your troops have.
Question is, does his own mana count? Let’s suppose it does.Three full Worldbreakers + him would do 24+32+32+32+22 = 142 damage then;
Three troops with no mana: 24 + 22 = 46 damage;
Three troops with 10 mana each: 24 + 22 + 30 = 76 damage.Definitely good amount of damage, but let’s not forget that it’s not AoE and can’t do split damage like that of Ketras. Can’t oneshot enemies, but good at weakening/finishing threats.
-
Support
Cleanse is provided both by his spell and 3rd trait. What is the worst status effect that comes to mind?Freeze? Yes, any looping team will appreciate that. More loops, more mana generated, more damage dealt.
Faerie fire? Very important to get rid of that ASAP. Imagine your whole team consumed by FF and enemy goblins / Infernus / TDS looping itself over and over… I’d ragequit if it happened to me. As of now, we only have 4 troops with AoE Cleanse: Apothecary, Mercy, Herdmaster and Devoted. And we have upcoming self-looping self-enchanting Bright Forest legendary dragon that FFs all enemies. Thank goodness he’s not AoE. Having a troop with Cleanse on demand would definitely be handy. And he cannot be stunned.
Entangle? Meh, very situational;
Burn? Meh, only if enemy has Infernus/Elemaugrim/Fire Giant combo;
Disease? Meh, I’d rather replace him with mana draining troop against Plague team.
So what do we have? Basically he’s an okayish sniper with excellent traits that scales in late game. Any red/purple/yellow looping team would love him. Forget about Mab. Looping team will buff his magic and weaken enemies for him to finish them off.
But he’s not the main damage dealer. 70 single target non AoE damage for 22 mana and virtually no other effects is meh compared to other troops. He’s just an antiKraken, antiMab, antiFF support. Infernus uses the same colors and is far superior to him.
Should I hunt for him? I sense that that Bright Forest Dragon will be new meta soon. Question is will it be new OP meta? If the answer is no, then I probably should try to get him. Just in case. If yes, then he’s a must have.
Thoughts?
