(Resolved) Game won't progress past initial start up screen

What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
For the game to launch

This is simply what you were trying to do and what happened instead. Example:
Just opened the game through Steam

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
Has happened several times through Steam reboots and comp reboots. Nothing seems to make any difference. Was playing fine until last night when it simply crashed out and I didn’t try to boot it again until today.

The game seems to crash more often lately but it doesn’t seem to be any particular spot. However, I’ve noticed when trying to go to the Troops tab, it can sometimes take up to two minutes to load which seems odd since everything else loads fine unless it’s because of the number of troops I have.

EDIT: Already verified the game files through Steam and everything checks out fine. My apologies for not initially adding that.

Verify Integrity of Game Files

  1. Restart your computer and launch Steam.
  2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
  3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files… button.
  4. Steam will verify the game’s files - this process may take several minutes.
