I am pointing out people are most likely not actively playing with those teams.

Also I doubt they are leftovers from old PVP because strangely they were absent the first week of the new PVP. I clearly remember being happy at not having them around that week. They were added back recently.

Because there there, because they’ve been used either today or a month ago.
But still used.

The only way to use them teams is to mindlessly press buttons, while reading , working, jogging, eating or any other extra curricular activity, you’d like to do while pressing one button blind.

Would you like me to go on and get you pictures of seekra and chalcedony teams in central spire, I can do this for you.

Oh for God’s sake I did not come here to argue with you. I do lots of PVP and GW myself and hate them too. You cannot do anything if you get a bad board.

I was trying to tell you why they have been put back into PVP. They were not there the first week of the new PVP. They have been added back as defense…

Reread my initial comment. I never stated I am in favor of them. I shared info to perhaps explain why they have been multiplying in Central. It was not like that the first two weeks.

What iv done and what I do is take what people say and debunk it.

What I read from most posts, is pure self interest of these journey troops, wanting to keep them to get easy wins outside of journey, or being in a guild and getting rewards, because the lower levels can use the journey troops.

Well this game is worldwide, for everyone so each thing in game has to be beneficial to everyone, and not break the game.

If everyone stopped there self interest for five seconds, they’d hopefully understand, why the Devs are changing them.

And why people don’t like seeing them everywhere in game.

It’s a troop made for journey.

That last week was used in doom , PvP
This week ,underspire and raid.

Does anyone really believe, the Devs designed these troops, to be used in every mode , really guys.

Wether you use them or you don’t, to many people do.

If IV attacked you flag my post, as I don’t see anywhere that iv done anything, except use what you say back at you.

This. I don’t think there’s any evidence at all that the release notes’ claim that we’ll be fighting against other players’ attack teams is actually in effect yet:

  • in Central Spire the opponent teams are all old-PvP defense teams – including, yes, fireball teams, all-gnome teams, and flex teams with the Lance Knight bug
  • in all other regions, opponent teams are all auto-generated “4 random troops matching the restriction” teams; no heroes, no synergy.

We’re still very much missing the “vP” in “PvP”, I feel; the only versus currently happening is the jostling for league promotion spots.

It is not. For example last week Purple was 100% fastest region. This week it is Blue or Yellow.

Reason for this is that you indeed have to play vs. trash nonsense teams in other regions but in Central Spire you play player-made teams that have synergy and can make you lose or atleast spend more time in the battles.

Wrong.

For the first 24h, enemy teams in regions were also player -made. I personally lost to a couple of Rope Dart teams in a yellow area. But our attack teams didn’t save and kept clearing, and we were forced to re-create them over and over. When that was fixed, suddenly our enemies turned into “4 random troops meeting the criteria”. Can be a coincidence, but I don’t think so. Could also be a result of the temporary fix to the crazy lag we’ve had from the start…

Re: Central Spire - the enemy teams there are player-made, but they seem to be old PvP defences. I caught the game a few times on offering me a player I know (and I have a way to go to their profile and click “fight” to see what is saved as the defense team) - and in Central Spore, it showed e.g. 4 firebombs, or 3x Dark Smith Drenza + Lance Knight - but when I clicked on the fight button directly from their profile 2 minutes later - they had a Zuul team sitting there, not Dark Smith Drenzas. It feels like the attack teams don’t get save on defense there either, just are pulled from old defences, including the “joke” defences teams like 4 firebombs, gnomes, etc. it’s just not visible right away, because we don’t have the battle log any more and can’t check enemy defense easily and immediately, and a lot of the teams are ones that people do use on attack too.

I think it was a quite smart way to force people to stop using certain troops & teams on defence, because some teams are brutal in the hands of AI / loop easily / hard to counter / counter is very RNG and not too reliable, but no sane HIGH LEVEL (say, 1200-1300 and up) player that has other and faster options would use them when actually actively playing, because they take ages to win a battle. But looking up in this thread - there are many people actually using them on attack, not just in PvP, and enjoy it (which blows my mind, to be honest). Just as there are many people who use goblin teams, even though the goblins also hit with wet noodles in any given spell cast, but guaranteed extra turn makes them seem worthwhile.

honestly, im more expecting it to not even happen until NEXT journey, and that this one is just gonna absolutely suck.

Despite Brown Beasts not being the most exciting thing ever, Amarok/Scorpio + Bork as a Generator or Bulette/Glutmaw/Devourer will keep this Journey in check.

You’ll need some way of disabling immunity to poison and devour. And you’ll likely lose up to a third of your miles due to taking more than 10 turns.

Amarok does Stun random enemy on extra turns. Glutmaw Curses and Stuns a targeted enemy, and can also devour random enemy on cast. There also are some true damage options and BORK was mentioned for high level users to spam mana. I think the optimal approach is to ditch the idea of even casting the Pathfinder or using Warden in the first place.

This whole thing screams for Elementalist and a way to generate quick mana and hope good things happen.

I have couple teams ready already, in E12 tests they worked okay but I totally agree on one thing: Points will be lost due to taking more than 10 turns in high level battles. I can’t justify using Sunspear to increase Amarok devour chances, once the Root Trap is gone you are too vulnerable against high level opponents.

I can see low/mid level users struggling with this event though.

I did my Journey achievements w/ the Red Dragon. Never got to it w/ green, or purple.

I noticed tho “wow these take FOREVER come out”

Honestly if you havent’ done it by now like you probbaly dont care about achievements cause Brown was one of these easiest to do w/ the every turn Duststorm.
