Pet rescue shop purchase missing

What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
I bought the 400 gem level of the Owlbunny pet but did not get any pets (nor, I suspect, any of the other items.)

How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?
This is a first for me.

Steps to make it happen again
Best I can do is walk through the steps exactly as I did them.
Finished pet rescue
Bought several levels of pet.
went into troops menu to level it.
Noticed I was just short of another ascension.
Sigh audibly enough that my wife asked me what was wrong.
Go back into pet event, buy 400 gem level.
Return to troop menu only to discover I still have the same number of pets.
Figure I somehow didn’t buy the pet.
Go back into pet event, see 400 gem level is purchased.
Swear loudly, Have wife tell you “I don’t know why you play that game if you’re not having fun”.

File a support ticket under “Missing Rewards”

That is a more targeted approach than posting a bug report here. Seems like the forums don’t really do support stuff, and I don’t know if support handles bug reports.

Oh, and one other idea. Restart the game and do a battle, then check your pet count. Since 4.3, the game has had a problem where numbers don’t update in real time. It’s possible you did receive the pet, and the servers know it, but your client (the program running on your phone) for some reason hasn’t gotten the new numbers yet.
