It varies from time to time. I’m guessing this is a layer issue from how it happens and just from how clothing and hero appearance and gender seem to be working?
As Arch said, we used to have just a tiny bit of armor, a single ear or even just hair attacking us fairly regularly; that seems to be gone. But naked heroes (with or without hats) and empty armors are still frequent.
It’s usually in the battle screen, but it also happened to me in the Invade and Defend screens a couple weeks ago, which was new to me. Including an altogether invisible opponent.
