You are correct. I don’t often “take the bait” as it were but his was not the only voice saying similar things above and I really am frustrated by this whole mishandled release.
I want to give the devs the benefit of the doubt and I’m not jumping ship by any means but If my response helps the devs understand then mission accomplished.
If it helps, I got 3 Gnomes in explore this afternoon in one hour and 2 of them back to back.
That makes 3 before the nerfhammer and 3 after with over 700 explore battles and 2 of the 6 gave me a vault key.
Now that I think I might not see another until christmas lol, oh well.GG
Is it so difficult to understand that gnomes are not there so we can farm them?
They’re just a bonus when playing other modes (i.e. if you have one of them, you are lucky).
And will be farmable during Vault Event.
The Gnomes whether the devs realize it or not, function as a gate to new content. The Gnome Vault. Given their “intended” rarity, I honestly believe they should all have a key AND a sack of random goodies.
Gnome farming will be possible during a Vault Event. And yes the content of this patch is mainly not available right now like RB, Invasion and Bounty.
It seems that it should be better that Gnome shouldn’t appear aside during Vault Event…
Gnome and Vault is a copy paste from Diablo 3.
I played D3 and so on, I’m used of the intend behind “a rare troop that can pop up when you are playing normally”. I could be biased .
It’s not the player’s fault that the developers released an untested feature that generated misleading impressions. Expecting things to settle in more or less 24 hours is quite surreal considering how invested some of us are in this game…
and probably more, so when you play 1000 battles and then win 500 souls after 4h of playing this is really frustrating, it make me feel like yeah!!! i won the lottery but we are 20k to win the same prize so you need to split your million in 20k
Speaking of, am I the only one that has a problem with this especially if it is as much of a difference as people are reporting here? Timed events that boost things by an order of magnitude are inherently a bad idea, especially when it is such a brief period of time. “Double” something already skirts the line for incentivizing playing during a specific period of time over basically deincentivizing playing during any other period of time, but is usually about the right balance if opportunities are semi regular (eg., double traitstones, 4 bonus glory which is not quite double) if stretched over the week. You don’t need much to get people to break their patterns and want to go out of their way for “double”, so it can be a great incentive to get people thinking about the game. Ten times (compounded also possibly more vault keys) focused onto 10% of a month and always on a weekend is just way too much.
It should be a drip feed turned into a slight stream every once in a while, not a dry tap that gets turned onto max for very brief periods. That isn’t an incentive, its a restriction - play the game during this time or else don’t get that thing you wanted even literally spending ten times as long but on a different day. Hope you don’t have a job where you work on those days! I’m actually seeing a worrying number of things directing play on Sunday, specifically.
Do we even know how it will increase the frequence you see it?? Currently it’s over 1/700 battles. So i really hope during that vault event it’s gonna be More like 1/100 or 1/50
I have the clear impression that no one is believing on it for a while, some of the extreme reactions were quite natural i would say. As i understand, people with many different backgrounds will have different thresholds or tolerance to such abrupt changes.
The silence or lack of “face” and better ideas to manage the general mood of players are also on their hands, not ours. As much as we try to help, only time will allow things to calm down a bit. Unless of course someone come around trying to stir up things…
