Devs, what are your journey plans?

as the title asks, what are the plans for journey as the troop appears to be the same as them all, has the difficulty been reduced for later stages, 10 turn limit been removed, miles needed for rewards reduced.

what changes have been made so this event is not as tedious?

None most likely. Spend a ton of gems playing a tedious event because it’s “fun”

this is my worry. ideally my guild would like to know before they disappear for the weekend so we can tell our members if we are sacking the event off again.

Yeah, same.

We didn’t finish last time, didn’t even try.

99,9% safe to assume devs did absolutely nothing to improve the situation, because it would benefit “the players” and they either…
a) didn’t even fully grasp and understand the problem and therefore didn’t do anything.
b) did understand but didn’t do anything anyway because it isn’t “top priority” because it can’t be monetised further. it already runs smooth as the current situation is, by luring fomo-payer in. so why change anything?

Just don’t exchange gems beyond getting the troop once. Orb-upgrade it and see how far you get. Noone needs a silly steam achievement. And about the event rewards, totally not worth it to heavily exchange gems.

it’s interesting the fact that they said that they need to gather data on this journey (and, maybe also in the following) to decide what is indeed happening, what can be done, what changes are necessary. So, they need time to gather data…

Wait, but they also said that they were following all journey events for the last couple of years and confirmed that the journey troops would be a little overpowered. So, they gathered couple of years worth of data only on one aspect? Really weird, right? Quite unbelieveable they are that narrow sighted to not evaluate other problems already raised by community.

And what about last journey event, where a whole week of feedback from the players explaining more precisely what would be the most critical problems? Now they need more time and more data.

Want to know one approach to get more reliable and rich data and feedback? Do some minor changes on this event! Lower a little more the reward tiers and raise the limit of turns before the penalty and then analyze the player base feedbacks! But of course this course of action is unacceptable, because for them it would cost a lot of studies to see the practicality of the new mechanics. And, of course, the communication also in the last moment, before going home for the weekend. Only next week they will start to see anything and won’t answer any questions until the end of the next week with the same excuses.

How exhausting it is to try to understand their mentality.

According to several sources of information, gathering data probably will be finished around May 2025. And so will be anything related to Gems of War. Since Digital Bros / 505 Games recently announced to lay off 30% of all employees and Infinity Plus 2 being a small studio with 20 employees altogether, it’s more than obvious, that we’re entering the last year of GoW soon.

IP2 has been acquired for approximately 4.500.000 USD, which have been parted into 2.000.000 USD at acquisition and 2.500.000 USD at the end of a 4-year-plan, which happens to be May 2025.

Now that’s probably everything you need to know about their real journey plans …

They didn’t change anything:

Deal [Magic + 4] damage to an Enemy. Then create 2 Purple Gems, boosted by Wargare Allies. [2x]

Shiny Spell: Deal [Magic + 4] damage to an Enemy. Then create 3 Purple Gems, boosted by Wargare Allies. [2x]

It may be best to do what many guilds did last time and say, ‘Save your gems. We’re skipping this one.’ The troop isn’t worth the orbs for ascending, or shiny keys to create 1 extra purple gem.

Soon we will guild ads in global chat reading,’….guild wars and Journey events optional.’
