A New Mythic Approaches - Jotnar Stormshield

Not sure why mass Burning (War, Dimetraxia, Jarl) wouldn’t accomplish that.

Although Dimetraxia’s spell could stand to be 100% at this point…

This is what I’m rolling with, except I threw in another Giant instead of Hell Cat for added bonus damage. Kraken definitely helps.

Anyone got any other team ideas?

Kraken for sure pop, and plague and moloch can also pop it in 50% of times when you match 4/5.

Or krakens third trait.
Get a 4 of a kind and every barrier will be wiped out.

Or Death if you are lucky  .

He’s weak and still venerable to a strike ana status like death Game over. Also, Succubus and Kerberos. He’ll not last long against those 3.

There’s a difference between targeting a troop’s weaknesses or defending against its strengths and flat out punishing something that is normally beneficial, inverting a strength into a weakness.

Amira or Desmaemona, for instance, are just particularly effective against certain categories of troops. That’s no different than the various “Slayer” traits. The categories themselves have no meaning or consequence on their own, they exist purely to make them strong or weak against certain other troops, or to have synergy with other troops. But a certain color or type isn’t an advantage or strength in isolation. Same with color removal. Removing or converting certain colors is effective at mana blocking troops that use that color. Boosting on colors that the enemy creates or converts to does punish their strategy, but is risky to take advantage of. The more of the color, the stronger the boost, but you also risk handing them a board full of a color they need.

I can only think of a few troops that punish enemies for buffing themselves. Bone Dragon’s the most obvious, and I think it’s been made clear how strong that is. Faunessa and Fel’Dras are boosted by enemy skills, and I suppose Charm similarly punishes attack buffs. Rakshanin, Ranger, Shadow Hunter technically boost off the enemy, but that’s just to make them scale, and doesn’t really punish self-buffing. They negate the advantage of doing so, without actively punishing the enemy for doing it.

You could argue that Famine, Moloch, and Mana Burn all punish enemies for collecting mana, but I’d say it’s more that it punishes them for holding on to mana rather than casting their spells.

Good counters to barrier are AoEs, split damage, and effects that hit multiple times, such as Infernal King’s spell. Those are generally beneficial, and reduce the impact of barrier without simply ignoring it or punishing the enemy for using it. I do think a particular effect that bypassed barrier without popping it might be interesting, because of how it affects team composition, similar to true damage. I don’t think you should generally be able to slot a single troop into a team, and have it nullify a particular defense for the entire team, because then it makes troops strong against something they shouldn’t be, reducing the pressure to diversify. Why use specialist troops when you can just nullify the enemy’s strategy, and then steamroll it with generalists?

Most of mine have come from glory keys. A handful from gem keys and a few from VIP.

Had shocking luck with VIP on PC for months now. Thousands upon thousands of gems spent on it with nothing new to show for it gets old after a while.

I can confirm that I have had at least one mythic from each relevant type of key: glory, gem, event (Kingdom local mythics only), VIP and guild (Level 6).

Edit: Mythic not mystic… thanks @VegaDark541

I assume you mean mythic and not mystic…
