Treasure Guardian Community Drop Rates

Fantastic tracking everyone, we are nearing 400 data points!

Looking at low numbers / outliers per rarity:

COMMON:
Writs appear to be very rare. No trinkets have been found here.

RARE:
Trinkets appear very rarely (only one reported appearance - may be an error). Writs are slightly more common than Common rooms but still very rare. There are 2 reported instances of x2 tokens dropping instead of the usual x1.

ULTRA-RARE:
Jewels are dropped somewhat rarely.

EPIC:
Jewels are dropped somewhat rarely.

LEGENDARY/MYTHIC:
Not enough data, although dragonite appears to be a rare drop.

SENTINELS:
Only 6 reported Sentinel drops thus far (1.5% of total drops)

Sorry I was not reward tracking but felt the data might have some value, as it has been the highest total guardian rooms, I am aware of.

Shouldnā€™t we also keep track what section (main path), from boss/sales/main path) the treasure sentinel was found. (So you might have a better idea where to search when underspire is finished)

I has 15 TG rooms, sections 1-4 were 3, section 5 was 2, section 6 was 1. I also had 15 dead ends that were not teasure rooms. Given the wide variance in number of TG rooms per map, Iā€™m not sure if the number per section is meaningful. Some people only had 2 TG rooms.

So 30 dead end rooms, 15 TG rooms and no troop cards. First and only time exploring the complete map for me.

so theoretically speaking:

1% (likely) - 2% (less likely) drop rate
variable rate of appearance (10-15? guardians per week) (weā€™re in trouble if 2 guardians in a full clear is a reoccurring result)
and the rates that some people had for obtaining all dragonite dragons (32-36? idk highest number out of everyone)

ā€¦the ETA is wildly drastic and over 10 years isnā€™t off the table for someone that only spends free torchesā€¦

and is there any expectation theyā€™ll make the drop rate higher in the future? I donā€™t think there is. Other ways to get it? doubt it.

though, in the odd event that the possibility that sentinels only drop from lower rarity chests would be a gift and a curse at the same time. Iā€™m sure this will be proven wrong in the upcoming weeks.

454 responses. Iā€™d love to get at least 100 of each rarity before I get tired of dumping numbers into a spreadsheet, but Iā€™m not sure thatā€™s going to happen with how rare legendary and mythic rooms are (about 4% and 3% appearance rate, respectively).

Someone got a Sentinel from a legendary room today. We just donā€™t have a lot of data on the higher rarity rooms.

I was afraid the treasure guardian drop rate was bad, but that is REALLY bad. Hoard mimic troop chance was roughly 10% chance for mimic, 10% chance for hoard mimic, then 10% chance for troop card from boss chest.

Yet, we could grind for hoard mimic as much as we wanted. We donā€™t have that option in under spire. Yep, this is rng hell at a whole new level.

Do I just have really bad luck? I only found 1 Guardian room in my Underspire this week and it was in the 2nd to last zone. 138 rooms, all dead ends revealed. Not really motivated to search for dead rooms in future weeks if this is a common enough possibility.

OK, had a chance to read some replies here. Iā€™ll have to try to count of total number of dead ends as well. Ignoring boss room and merchants:

Area 1 - 5 dead ends
Area 2 - 6 dead ends
Area 3 - 4 dead ends
Area 4 - 5 dead ends
Area 5 - 1 dead end, 1 TG
Area 6 - 5 dead ends

Yes, really bad luck. I similarly explored everywhere and had 14 TG rooms. Maybe an issue with the resets this week?

3 dead ends, 0 Guardians in the new map, area 1 complete.

If 1-2 Guardians overall is the default current spawn, then thereā€™s something wrong with the system.

I guess itā€™s time to wait and see if anyone else finds any Guardians today.

(My initial hypothesis is that it is indeed broken, since I had 15 last week and didnā€™t have a full reset like others who only had 1-2 guardians after the reset).

Maybe the spawn is random too so if I may not find even 1. Found 4 last week, I didnā€™t buy anything and got some free torches.

It seems 3 might be the maximum for each zone, might be less if the zone was squeezed. Around half of total dead-end will be Guardian.

If anyone had a case that disprove this, please share.

This week, zone 1 fully explored, and I found 5 dead-end, none of them are guardian, when at least 1-2 should show up. I hope they didnā€™t somehow forget to activate the guardian spawn codeā€¦
