There are 6 battles that players can encounter during the event: Winter Wolf, Yeti, Winter Imp, Frostfire Troll, Frostfeather, and Faerie Gobmother. The first 4 battles are randomly chosen, but they all have an equal chance of appearing on the map.
The battle against Frostfeather will only appear after the player wins 4 of the other battles. Defeat her to encounter the Faerie Gobmother.
After defeating the Faerie Gobmother, all battles reset, and you’ll need to fight another 5 battles to encounter the Faerie Gobmother again.
You can find the following rewards for each of the different battles you may encounter.
Winter Wolf: 3 Spirits
Yeti: 4 Spirits
Winter Imp: 5 Spirits
Frostfire Troll: 6 Spirits
Frostfeather: 1 Ice Crystal
Faerie Gobmother: 1 Ice Crystal
Each Spirit is worth 3 points, and each Ice Crystal is worth 20 points.
Hawthorn will become available as possible drops from Glory, Gem, Guild (at correct Levels for his rarity), and VIP Chests after weekly reset. He will also appear in Event Chests during Nexus event weeks.
Infinity Plus Two has repeatedly been found to sell loot boxes missing the best items or containing them at significantly lower than advertised odds. They always deny this at first, deliberately spread misinformation and ultimately refuse to communicate further once enough proof has been presented. Avoid spending money on this event, you may receive something inferior to what you paid for, their support will just close and lock your compensation request.
Why is Frostfire Troll (epic troop) worth more points than Winter Imp (legendary troop)… but Frostfeather (also legendary troop) worth even more points than frostfire troll, but worth the same points as faerie gobmother (mythic). Ugh…
It’s good to have positive, definitive confirmation, but this leaves out any acknowledgement that he was not in the aforementioned chests for a period where it was advertised he would be, or that there was any kind of mistake or delay .
Other, regularly released troops that enter the same chests “in 3-4 weeks’ time” don’t get special mentions when they enter the drop pool, but they usually make it in, and it’s still expected they’ll be there.
I guess on the flipside, the other Nexus troops from the Kingdom Pass (Waterborn Priestess, etc.) were added possibly earlier than the advertised 2-3 months after event end (maybe it was realised that that was a bit ridiculous), but even so there was no communication around why that happened, either.
