Thanks for the Frost Archer, but

…there will be another art from (seemingly) the same artist: Arctic Fox

Could you please find something… well… more foxy?

I believe the artist used this photo to trace the art but just changed the mouth:

And the spell art:

I’m not sure if there is any problem about tracing art from photos with copyrights, but personally i would prefer completely new and original drawings.

Pay to win copyright infringement of actual artists! :open_mouth:

Hmmm… that’s not the best art ever… maybe there are reasons…

It’s still better than Frost Archer imo. But probably from the same artist.

So someone put out the worst art on a card ever, and they decided to pay them more & do it again? If you want to throw money away, i have a PO box where you can send money orders.

Completely pointless addition to Stormheims arsenal, like they don’t already have better ways to get blue gems…
At least make it great art then, foxes are adorable creatures, it should be easy to make the art adorable too.

I’m 100% sure its not the same artist.

Given how the Shentang Background was copyright infringement at first as well and the devs had it then changed - though the original was a drawn picture, not a traced photo; not sure how much that matters - I suppose there might be hope for the poor creature here that it will be saved by law as well.

Not sure who I should ping about this. Maybe just @Saltypatra to have a look at it?

Hey everyone, we are looking into this. Please be aware that using references is quite common practice with artists. The issue with Shentang was that the kingdom artwork was copied more directly from an existing image, which is why we had the artwork redone. In this instance, the finished artwork is referenced from the image, but not in the same way that the original Shentang kingdom artwork was.

As always, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Spot on! :joy:

I still think that using an image basically 100% as reference is pretty much unprofessional and GoW deserves better than to be represented by something like that.

But still, even if that’s okay… there’s literally hundreds of pictures with better references out there.
Why not pick one of these much better ones? Would love to see some of those in the game…:smirk:

I agree Salty but that was the 50% of Sheba’s post I think the community didn’t care if you commented on.

This art isn’t just bad, it’s pretty clearly traced from a reference? What are the odds we can get some placeholder art for now and you guys send feedback to your spec art firm that whichever mechanical Turk took that one did not provide the quality you expect?
